FEB. 22 - MARCH 4 PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT, the musical. Based on the smash-hit movie, “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.” The musical is a heartwarming, uplifting adventure of two drag queens and a transgender woman on a journey across the Australian outback. The trio encounters an array of strange and colorful characters, some of who aren’t receptive to their flamboyant lifestyle. Yet hidden in the story is an uplifting message of tolerance, diversity and friendship. Featuring a hit parade of dance floor favorites, this wildly fresh and funny musical is a journey to the heart of FABULOUS! Thu.-Sat. at 7:30p.m., Sat.-Sun. at 2p.m. Proscenium Theatre. $18. A faculty tuba recital featuring classic, contemporary and premiered works for tuba. 7p.m. Recital Hall. $8. APRIL 12 - 22 EURYDICE. Full of dark humor, lyrical beauty and wit; this traditional story is a visceral, contemporary meditation on love worth grieving for. The 2003 play focuses the ancient myth of ill-fated love not on the bereaved Orpheus but on his dead bride. After falling victim to a tragic accident that sends her hurtling into a wonderland of an underworld, Eurydice is reunited with her dead father in the Land of the Dead. Orpheus journeys to retrieve his bride, but Eurydice has begun to discover that the cost of living again can some- times exceed the cost of staying dead.
