Treasurer’s Report - Carol Johnson. An additional $2905.00 was raised for catch-up Sunday. This will be paid to-
ward the funds borrowed from the bank. A memorial gift was given by Deb Nelson in memory of Ken Nelson. A motion
was made by Sharon Weber and seconded by Jane Steinbach to accept the treasurer’s report as printed. Motion passed.
Pastor’s Report – was pr inted and reviewed by the council.
OLD BUSINESS
Flocknote.com – texting, email service would cost about $35 a month for Our Saviors. Discussion was to put this on
hold for the time being as Central was not interested in participating at this time.
NEW BUSINESS
RS Fiber – bundle internet and phone service. This will be put on hold for the next month until we have more infor-
mation regarding the possible sale of the parsonage and the total costs.
Bank accounts at First National need to be updated. A new name should be put on the account. Brett Bleick will stop
at the bank and have his name added.
Call process – part time candidate has been presented for an interim pastor. She would like to move ahead with an
interview. Karen Bleick and Larry Hanson are individuals to serve on the interview committee. We are looking for 2
more individuals to also help with the interview process.
Joanne Murphy has resigned from the church council. We will wait until elections in February to find a new trustee.
Community Meal – Lion’s will be serving this month’s community meal and we have a farewell party planned for

their employers, money directed to the church.

NEXT MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 12th at 7:00 PM.

Central Lutheran Church
Special Congregational Meeting
October 21, 2018
President Dale Hanson called the meeting to order. A quorum was declared.
The 2018 Expenses for the Parsonage as of September 30, 2018 was reviewed and discussed (copy attached to these
minutes).
Ballots were handed out and upon counting of the ballots, it was a unanimous vote not to sell the parsonage.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Submitted,
Larry Hanson
Treasurer
2018 Expenses for Parsonage as of 9/30/2018:
Utilities: FUEL: Central Share: $ 398.27 OS Share: $ 533.62
ELEC.: Central Share: $ 581.69 OS Share: $ 902.35
PHONE: Central Share: $ 224.63 OS Share: $ 344.16
INTERNET**: Central Share: $ 400.76 OS Share: $ 601.19
Renville Co Environment Tax: $ 68.00
$1,673.35 $2,381.32
Our Savior’s pays Central a monthly payment of $189.50 for “Parsonage Rent”.
As of 9/30/2018, the amount paid to Central is $1,895.
Premium for insurance on the parsonage is not broken down between the church property and the parsonage.
It is a blanket policy that covers everything. The annual insurance premium for all property is $3,497.00. If
the parsonage is not included in this blanket policy, not sure what the premium would be.
**The internet service currently hooked up serves both the parsonage and the church. If the parsonage is not
sold, RS Fiber may be hooked up separately to serve only the parsonage and could be bundled for phone and
internet service together. The quote that has been received is $104.00 monthly (paid 40/60 between the two
churches).
If there are other expenses for the parsonage that have been paid by members of the church, those have not
been presented to me for reimbursement or payment, so they are not reflected here.
One other item to consider is that if there is no parsonage available to a pastor, that pastor is to be compensated
30% of his/her base salary. For example, if Pastor Vicki did not have the parsonage to reside in, her compen-
sation for this past year would have been approximately $14,000 in addition to her annual salary. Central’s
annual share would have been $5,600 ($467/month).
