Although most of her jewelry can be seen and purchased at craft fairs in the area, Lento said she offers customized, made- to-order pieces as well. “I would love to design some pieces for a bridal party or something else like that if you wanted all your bridesmaids to wear the same piece of jewelry,” she said. “I would love to work with people getting married, having a baby shower or any kind of reception. I can do cen- terpieces or something else.” Lento, who also offers a men’s line, uses natural beads and those made out of acrylic, glass and crystal. She also uses materials like leather and pendants in her pieces. Lento also continually takes classes at different craft stores to improve her technique and heighten her sense of creativity. “The more creative you can be, the bigger of an audience you can reach,” she said. “As a kid, I always liked to do crafts and things, but I never thought I would be able to produce what I’m able to produce. I don’t know where it comes from. My creativ- ity has bloomed from a change in my life.” Lento said making each piece takes a lot of thought and planning, requiring her to picture the piece in her mind before she sits down to make it. She compared it to the process of writing or composing a song. One piece of jewelry alone can take anywhere from two to five hours to make from the start of the planning phase until it is finished. Lento, who is hoping to open a storefront in the next few years, said anyone interested in her jewelry pieces can call her at 203-892-7566 or visit her Facebook page by searching “Gifts by DMa- rie.” She does not charge for shipping within the state. “I can also drop pieces off at someone’s home or they can pick it up at mine if they want to see some of my other pieces,” Lento said. “Whatever is easier for them.” “I’m obviously not in this for the financial gain. I’m in it to see people smile and their faces light up.” A piece of handmade jewelry by Dina Lento of Gifts by DMarie.

At Gifts by DMarie, each piece of jewelry is uniqueBy JUSTIN MUSZYNSKISTAFF WRITER

BRISTOL—Gifts by DMa-

rie offers a variety of handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry.

“Each piece that is made is unique,” said Dina Lento, the owner and sole jewelry designer. “When you have one of my pieces of jewelry, you will be the only one to have it.”

Lento, who has been running Gifts by DMa-rie out of her home for four years, offers brace-lets, necklaces, rings, candle jewelry, decorative globes and decorative pic-ture frames.

Although most of her jewelry can be seen and purchased at craft fairs in the area, Lento said she offers customized, made-to-order pieces as well.

Lento, who also offers a men’s line, uses natural beads and those made out of acrylic, glass and crystal. She also uses materials like leather and pendants in her pieces.

Lento also continually takes classes at different craft stores to improve her technique and heighten

her sense of creativity.“The more creative you

Lento said making

each piece takes a lot of thought and planning, requiring her to picture the piece in her mind before she sits down to make it. She compared it to the process of writing or composing a song.

One piece of jewelry alone can take anywhere from two to five hours to make from the start of the planning phase until it is finished.
