2020 Lenten Formation Offerings

Listening to the Word: The Gospel of Mark Sunday mornings, March 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th Remembering that the Gospels were written within an oral tradition, we will gather and simply listen to Mark’s Gospel over five weekly segments. Grab your coffee and donut and join us in the Chapel Sunday mornings at 9:00 am during Lent.

Signs of Life: Why Church Matters Wednesday evenings, March 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, & April 1st at Grace Church in East Concord Over a tasty soup supper, we will delve into the Signs of Life and discover the riches of our worship traditions, liturgy, sacraments, as well as the art and architecture of our worship spaces. Our curriculum was created by SSJE and Virginia Theological Seminary and utilizes daily practices, videos, and discussion. Meeting at Grace Church in East Concord from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesdays during Lent.

A Lenten Discipline that Cares for Creation During Lent this year, we can all reduce our carbon footprint by avoiding disposable plastics of all types: packaged produce, straws, shopping bags, plastic cups and utensils, bubble wrap, etc. Give it a try! We can make a difference!
