3 GUARANTEEAllproductsmanufacturedbyC.S.F.InoxS.p.A.areguaranteedtothepurchaser,foroneyearfrom the date of purchase, against hidden defects in materials or manufacture, providing that they are installed and used according to instructions and recommendations of the manufactu-rer.Excludedfromtheguaranteeotherthandistinctivewearandteararerepairestodamagecausedbyimproperuse,abrasion,corrosion,negligence,defectofinstallation,non-observanceof inspection and maintenance, use of non-genuine spare parts, cause of accident or fortuity andfromanyactioncarriedoutbythepurchasernotaccordingtothenormalinstructionsofthemanufacturer.WARNINGBeforereturningtoC.S.F.InoxS.p.A.anyitemtobesubstitutedorrepairedunderguarantee,informabouttheproblemtheCustomerAssistanceOfficeandfollowinstructionsofthe manufacturer. Anyitemmustbeproperlypackedinordertoavoiddamagesduringthetransferinganda tech-nical report explaining the fault occured, must accompany the returned item/s.AnyitemwithapresumedfaultshouldbereturnedtoC.S.F.InoxS.p.A.withshipmentcostsatpurchaser' s charge, unless different agreements are given.C.S.F.InoxS.p.A.willexamine,repairand/orreplacethereturnedpieceandthensenditbacktothepurchaseronex-worksbasis.Shouldthepiecebefoundunderwarranty,nofurthercostswillbedebitthepurchaser.If,onthecontrary,thefaultisnotfoundunderwarranty,allnecessaryreparationsandreplacementswillbechargedatnormalcosttothepurchaser.CommercialpartsincorporatedinC.S.F.productsareguaranteedbytheircorrespondingmanufacturers.

4 GOODS TRANSPORTATION, RECEIVING AND TRANSFERRING4.1 TRANSPORTATION

ThepackingsofallpumpsmanufacturedbyC.S.F.InoxS.p.A.aredefinedwhenplacingtheorder.Unlesspriorarrangementsaregiven,goodswillbepackedonlyfortransitconditionsandnotforlong-termstorage;incaseitshouldbenecessarytostorethepumpsoutside,youarerequestedtocoverthepumpsappropriatelyinordertoprotecttheelectricalparts(motor)fromrain, dust, humidity etc.

4.2 RECEIVINGWARNINGBygoodsreceiving,thewholenessofpackingmustbeverified,inordertoidentifypossibledamagestothecontentoccuredduringtransferingandtoclaimthemimmediatelytothecarrier.Shouldanydamagebeascertained,thefollowingproceduremustbeobserved:-collectthegoodswithreservation;-takethenecessarypicturesshowingthedamages;-notifythesuffereddamages,byregisteredairmail,tothecarrierbysendingatthesametimethepicturestakentoshowthedamagedpieces.

4.3 TRANSFERRINGCarrythepackedpumpsascloseaspossibletotheplaceofinstallationbymeansofappropriatelifting devices and unpack them. During this operation take care, as unsteady parts could fall down.The material used for packing (wood, paper, cellophane, etc.) should be properly got rid, according to the corresponding rules in force in receiver’ s country.Afterunpackingthepump,usespecialliftingbeltsandmovethepump-motor-settotheplaceofinstallation;neverusetheeyeboltsonthemotortomovethepump,astheeyeboltsareformoving the motor only.Inversionscompletewithshroud, take theshroudoffbeforemoving thepump-motor-set, inorder to avoid damages.

5 DESCRIPTIONTheCRseriesaresingle-stagecentrifugalpumpswithaxialsuctionportandaspeciallydesignedscrewimpeller.ManufacturedinAISI304-AISI316stainlesssteelwithfoodstandardfinishes.AllmodelshavethreadedconnectionsforfittingstoDIN11851standards(unlessotherwisere-quested)andallmodelsarefittedwithmechanicalseals.Thematerialsusedforthecomponentsandthemechanicalsealarechosenaccordingtotheliquidtobepumped.Theyarefittedwiththree-phaseelectricmotors,IP55protectionrating,unlessotherwisespecified.WiththeCRpumpstheproblemofcloggingbysolidorthickfluidsiseliminated.TheCRpumpsaresuitableforfoodandbeverageoperationsforpumpingfluidswithsolidswithoutmacerationof the product.

5.1 SOUND PRESSURE LEVELThesoundpressurelevelofcentrifugalpumpsisthefollowing:85dB(A)MAX.Themeasurementhasbeenmadebymeansofaphon-meterplacedat1mdistancefromthepump and at a height of 1.6 m from the ground.Preliminaryconditionisthatthepumpisfixedcorrectly;theabovementionedvaluesdonottakeintoaccountexternalnoisesources(e.g.valves,abrupthydraulicdeflections).

6 NON-PERMITTED USESDonotusethepumpwithasuctionpressuregreaterthanthespecifiedvalue(0.5timesthedischargeheadgeneratedbythepump).Thepumpmustalwaysbeusedinanenvironmentappropriatetothelevelofprotectionofthemotor.Alwayscheckthisonthemotorplatebeforeinstallation.WARNING THE PUMP MAY NOT BE USED IN ENVIRONMENTS WHICH REQUIRE A HIGH-ER LEVEL OF PROTECTION OR A HIGHER SPECIFICATION MOTOR OR ELECTRICAL PARTS.Components complying with the safety standards for the environment in questionmust beused.

7 INSTALLATION7.1 SUCTION AND INFLOW CONDITIONS

(NPSH = Net Positive Suction Head)NPSH of system (availableNPSH)Inordertoensurethatpumpoperationisfreefromcavitation,itisessentialtoobservethemaxi-mum permitted suction lift ha geo maxortheminimumallowableheadhc geo min.NPSH of pump (requiredNPSH)The centrifugal pumps can operate correctly only if vapour has not formed inside. For this reason the static head at the reference point for the NPSH is the centre of the impeller, that is the point ofintersectionofthepumpshaftaxiswiththeverticalplanethatpassesthroughtheexternalpointsofthebladeinletcorners.NPSHisthevaluerequiredbythepump,expressedinmetres,obtainedfromtheperformancecurve.Inpractice0.5mshouldbeaddedtothisvalueasasafetymargin.

7.2 PIPINGInordertopreventthecreationofharmfulstresses,thesuctionanddischargepipesmustbeconnected to thepumpportswithout theuseof force.Thesepipesmustalsobesupportedindependentlyavoidingcausingstressesonthepump.Theinternaldiametermustbethesamesizeasthepumpconnections.Itmustinanycasenotbesmallertoavoidheadlossand/orpoorperformances. Alwaysuseelbowswithlargeradius.Ifthepipediameterchangesalongtheline,usereductioncones,choosingtheonesthataremostsuitabletoavoidanyformationofairpockets(Pict.1).

Thesuctionpipemustbeasshortaspossibleandriseasitmovestowardsthepumpif it issuckingfromatank(Pict.2).Ifontheotherhandthepumpisbelowtheleveloftheliquid,thepipeshoulddescendslightly(Pict.3).Ifthepumpisusedfortransportinghotliquids,fitexpan-sionjointstocompensateanyexpansionofthepiping.Themaximumvelocityoftheliquidinthesuctionpipemustnotbegreaterthan3m/s.Velocitiesbetween1and2m/sarerecommended.Thesuctionpipemustbedesignedinsuchawayastopreventairfromenteringthepump.Forthisreason,whensuckingfromatanklocatedatalowerlevel,thepipemustreachbelowthefreesurface of the liquid. In order to prevent the formation of vortices and avoid the risk of sucking in air,alwayskeepaminimumheadatthepipeinlet(h.min.)equaltoatleastthedynamicheadplusasafetymarginof0.1m(Pict.2).

Inorder toprevent the formationofvorticeswhen it isnotpossible toobserve thevaluesofminimumavailablehead,itispossibletofitcrossesinthepiping.Thissystemissuitableevenfortankswithapositivehead.

-Avoidcreatingobstacleswhichcouldincreasesuctionlossesdisruptingsmoothfluidflow.Makesurethattherearenorestrictions,sharpturnsortightelbowsonthedischargeline,sincetheseincreasedisturbance.

7.3 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONMaketheelectricalconnectiononlyafterthehydraulicconnectionhasbeencompleted;setupthemotorcontrol system inconformitywith the technical standardsand regulations in force(EN60204-1):inparticularamanualelectricpowerswitchmustbeinstalledwithadequatecur-rentswitchingcapacity;devicesforovercurrentandoverloadprotection(e.g.fuses,automaticswitches,etc.)mustalsobefitted,plus,ifnecessary,adevicetopreventaccidentalrestarting.Checkthatthemainfrequencyandvoltageandtheavailablepoweraresuitableforthemotorinstalled.Allthematerialusedfortheelectricalconnection(cables,cableclamps,switchesandshielding)musthaveasuitablelevelofprotectionfortheenvironmentinwhichitisinstalled.Besuretousecablesofsufficientcross-sectionforthecurrentshownonthemotorplatesoastoprevent them from overheating. Before doing anything else, make the motor's earth connection, using the terminal on the mo-torandacableofsufficientcross-section.Thecablesmaybeconnectedtotheterminalboardusingeitheradeltaorstararrangement.Followthedatagivenonthemotorplateforthemainvoltage,asshowninthediagraminpict.4;ensurethattheterminalsarecleanandtightandnotunder stress.Whenstarting,themotor'scurrentabsorptionincreasesbrieflyto5-6timesthenominalvalue.Ifthemainssupplyisunabletosubstainthisincreaseinabsorption,useastar-deltastarterorotherkindofdevice(e.g.anautotransformer).

C.S.F.InoxS.p.A.willacceptnoresponsibilityfordamagetopropertyand/orinjurytopersonscausedbyfailuretocomplywithtechnicalstandardsandregulationsinforce.

8 OPERATION8.1 PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS

- Check that the pump turns freely under hand pressure.-Checkthatthepumpturnsinthemarkeddirection(CLOCKWISE,asseenfromthecontrolend).-Thesuctionpipeandthepumpmustbefilledwithliquid.Therearetwopossiblecases:a)Whenthepumpistooperatewithanegativesuctionhead,itmustbeprimedbyintroducingliquidintothepumpbody.b)Whenthepumpistooperatebelowthelevelofthesuctionliquid,i.e.withapositivehead,thesuctionanddischargegatevalvesmustbeopeneduntilthepressuregaugeonthepumpdischargeshowsapressurecorrespondingtothepositivesuctionhead.-Ifthesealingchamberistobecooled,openthecoolingwatersupplyandadjusttheflow.

8.2 STARTING- Carry out the preliminary operations, then close the discharge valve completely and make sure that the suction valve is completely open.- Start the pump and check once again that it rotates in the right direction.

8.3 OPERATING CHECKS- If the pump does not generate the required discharge head rapidly, stop and repeat the prim-ing operations.-Ifthedischargegatevalveisopenedmorethannecessary,i.e.furtherthanthespecifiedwork-ingpoint,andthepumpisoperatingwithalowerdischargeheadthanthatrequired,therewillbeanincreaseindeliveredcapacityandabsorbedpower.Ifthisoccurs,throttlethedischargeuntiltherequiredheadandcapacityvaluesareobtained.-Thepumpmustoperatesmoothlyandwithoutvibrations.-Donotoperatewithoutliquidandinanycaseavoidprolongedoperationwiththedischargegate valve closed.-Checkthatthesuctionliquidlevel isalwayssufficienttograntanadequateenergyloadfornormal operation of the pump.- Mechanical seal: check that there is no leakage along the shaft.

8.4 EXTENDED STOPWhenstoppingthepumpforalongertime,emptythepumpcompletelyandwashitaccuratelyin order to avoid the formation of scales and/or encrustations. When starting the pump again, pleasefollowtheabove-mentionedinstructions.

8.5 CLEANING THE PUMPThepumpdoesnotrequireanyspecialwashingprocedures.Thewashingcyclesnormallyusedfortheplantinwhichitisinstalledarequitesatisfactory.Whenusingthepumpforliquidsthattendtohardenorcrystallize,alwaysmakesureitiswashedbeforetakingthemachineoutofoperation.Thiswillensuredurabilityofthesealandofthepumpitself.Itistheuser'sresponsibilitytoensurethatthewashingliquidsarecompatiblewiththeprocessliquid and the pump.

11 MAINTENANCESEE ENCLOSURE FOR MAINTENANCE OF SEAL AND PUMP.

12 DISPOSAL OF THE PUMPFordisposingthepumppleaseobservethefollowinginstructions:-disconnectelectricalandhydraulicconnectionsaccordingtotechnicalrulesandlawsinfor-ce.-Disassembleallcomponentsofthepumpforseparatedismantling;washthecomponentsandclean the structure accurately.Themaincomponentsofthepumparemadefromthefollowingmaterials:- pump casing, cover, impeller, shaft S.S. Aisi 304 - Aisi 316 - elastomers NBR - EPDM - FLUOROCARBON(FPM) - TEFLON- motor Aluminium - Cast iron - CopperComponents made from amianthus or lead are not used in our production.WARNING The components of the pump should be properly got rid, according to the corresponding rules in force in receiver’s country.
