Low costtooling, easy-to-use conversational type programming control and such otherunique and exceptional features have resulted in these machines becoming the favorites of usersworld-wide meeting their needs to full satisfaction.

Low Noise Glutch-Brake

In addit ion to contr ibut ing to the improvement of theworkplace environment by reducing the machine noise toless than 80 dB with the use of a hydraul ic clutch-brake,running costs are lowered because a large capacitycompressor is not required. Disks are immersed in an oi lbath which el iminates wear on the disk and maintenanceoperat ions such as l in ing replacement are not required.

Ram Position DetectionUsing an Absolute Encoder

The detect ion of the upper and lower end l imits of thepunching ram is v i ta l to the posi t ive punch in-pul l outmechanism. This is performed by the absolute encoder thatis synchronized with the crankshaft .In addit ion to ensuring a consistent response to signals, theTop Dead Centre (TDC) control ler can be used to easi ly setthe var ious angles digi ta l ly .

Automatic Repositioning

Makes i t possible to process prOducts that exceed theX-axis table stroke. In addit ion, i t can be used to el iminatedead zone dur ing processing.

Accurate Turret Al i gnment

Posit ive al ignment of the punch and die holders is assuredbecause Muratec l ine bores the lower turret stat ion using theupper turret punch holder key groove as a guide. Since l ineboring is carr ied out after the upper and lower turrets areassembled on the main frame, al ignment of al l stat ions isa ss u re0.The super rol l f in ishing process appl ied to the punch holderbores resul ts in enhanced surface hardness andsmoothness, and superiors wear resistance is obtained.

A single bol t is a l l that is required to at tach the punch tothe punch holder after which a urethane str ipper is f i t tedby hand to the assembly. This is now ready forinstal lat ion in the top turret. In the lower turret, diesett ing can be performed with a simple touch of theclamp cover. The simple and robust parts have beendesigned to handle lateral loading for high accuracy andlong l i fe. The number of parts has been minimized tofaci l i tate easy tool management and keep tool ing coststo a minimum.

Using the ful l and direct force of the ram to punch r ightthrough the ful lsheetthickness posi t ively and againusing the same force to posi t ively pul l out the punchfrom the sheet is the or iginal proven Muratec concept.The ram is mechanical ly l inked to the punch holderthroughout the punc hin g stroke guara nteeing posit ivepunching and stable str ipping, regardless of the sheetthickness, sheet qual i ty and tool condit ion. This enablesstable and high speed punching operat ion even forheavy duty punching of th ick sheets including stainlesssteel. During forming operat ions also, end of punchconf irmation modes (MB and M9) are not required to beused result ing in uninterrupted stable speed ofo oe ratr o n.

Tapping Device (0pt ion)

A r ig id- tapping technique is used to synchronize main shaftrotat ion and feed. The tapping mechanism enables highqual i ty, fast, accurate r igid tapping for var ious mater ialtypes and thickness range. With this opt ionalfeature, M2to M8 tapping is possible.

Program Memory

The standard program memorycapacity is equivalent to a 160 m tape.With opt ional features this can beextended to 320 m and 1280 m (exceptCENTRUM-2500).

FDD Device (Handy file)

A portable f loppy disk dr ive is used as astandard media for program input-outout. This allows transfer ofprograms generated by Autoprogramming software to the controlunit . An RS232C serial interface isprovided for communicat ion with thecomputer to transfer programs.In CENTRU M-3000/3500 a ndMAGNUM-5000 programs can bedirect ly read from the f loppy disk inREMOTE operat ion mode to executepunching operat ions. A 2DD (640K8)disk can store the eouivalent ofapproximately 1600 m of tape programsand a 2HD (1MB) disk 2500 m ofprograms. This feature is extremelyuseful for the companies handl ing smal l -batch, large var iety product ion.
