SEL LessonResponsible Decision Making

• Before ViewingWe all have to make many choices every day. But how do we make responsible choices? Responsible decision making is the ability to make constructive choices about personal behavior and social interactions based on ethical standards, safety concerns and social norms. Let’s watch a video that speaks to making responsible decisions.

• After ViewingWe can all learn to be more responsible in our decision making. The steps to making responsible decisions include: Step 1. Identify the problem or choice. Step 2. Brainstorm your options or possible solutions. Step 3. Review the pros and cons of each potential consequence. Step 4. Make a choice. Step 5. Evaluate the outcome for yourself and others. Remember that learning from our mistakes and identifying when we have made a poor choice can help us learn to make better ones in the future. Learning to implement these steps to making good decisions can help us to be more successful. Let’s all strive to be responsible decision makers!https://kaltura.collierschools.com/index.php/extwidget/preview/partner_id/101/uiconf_id/23448617/entry_id/0_av8i7m81/embed/auto?&flashvars[streamerType]=auto
