Public Engagement

Annual publicity campaigns regarding the RGI scheme and Carbon Monoxide awareness are undertaken;

An annual budget of approx. €850k is spent advertising the RGI scheme and the dangers of Carbon Monoxide;

These campaigns focus on the legal requirement that only RGIs undertake Gas Works, the need to obtain a certificate upon completion of the work and the benefits of getting your appliance serviced regularly, etc.

Awareness of the RGI scheme has increased from 17% in 2007 to 55% in 2014 among the general public (25% to 62% amongst natural gas users with a high of 68% in 2012);

These survey results are continually monitored.3
