Generally, the procedure for Campus recruitment entails the following :
Aptitude Test
Group Discussion
Personal Interview (may consists of a Technical Interview and an HR Interview)
Campus Recruitment Training Program help you crack all the above.
Aptitude/Technical Tests:
After short listing, candidates based on the Academic Criteria as stated above, the
shortlisted students go through to the next round of placements, which are typically
Aptitude and Technical tests conducted over one or two days at the college
campus. Placement Tests can be conducted in Paper format or in a Computer-based
format.
The aptitude test normally includes questions based on:
a. Quantitative Ability
b. Data Interpretation
c. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
d. Logical Reasoning
e. General Knowledge and Current Awareness
The technical test, as the name suggests, is designed to assess your subject knowledge in
your area of specialization (for eg. computer programming, mechanical, chemical, civil
etc.)
Some companies also conduct Essay Writing tests and/or Psychometric tests based on
their requirements. Campus Recruitment Training Program is well designed to cater the
needs of student in above moduce.
Group Discussion
Companies conduct group discussion after the written test so as to check on your
interactive skills and how good you are at communicating with other people. The GD is
to check how you behave, participate and contribute in a group, how much importance do
you give to the group objective as well as your own, how well do you listen to viewpoints
of others and how open-minded are you in accepting views contrary to your own. The
aspects which make up a GD are verbal communication, non-verbal behaviour, and
conformation to norms, decision-making ability and cooperation. You should try to be as
true as possible to these aspects.
Evaluation of a Group Discussion
Group Discussion is evaluated on the following parameters:
Your Knowledge of the Topic
Communication Skills
Leadership Quality
Creativity
Initiative
Self Confidence
Assertiveness
Decision Making and Facilitating Skills
Enthusiasm
Ability to think on ones feet
GDs can be topic-based or case-based.
Topic based Gds can be classified into three types:-
Factual Topics
Controversial Topics
Abstract Topics
Personal Interview
After a round of Group Discussion, the candidates are short listed for the interview. For
the employer, this is the medium to actually know the person beyond his test scores as
well as to gauge his capabilities and talents and his ability to project himself as a suitable
employee. The two phases of an interview are:
A. Technical Interview The technical interview is designed to measure the student’s learning and understanding
of specific concepts in his field of specialization viz. C, C++, Java, microprocessors,
Electronics etc. It tests the level of knowledge in the talent area of a student
B. HR Interview The HR interview is a very critical process in the entire recruitment drive conducted by
any organization, as it deals with the evaluation of a student as a prospective employee of
the organization based on his calibration with the benchmarks that are set for any
employee of the organization. The HR interview tests a students on his/her exposure to
the practical aspect of his talents, strengths and area of opportunity, basic mannerisms
and team working abilities and clarity of objectives and future goals.

PRE PLACEMENT TRAINING
How important is Pre Placement Training?
Training is an ongoing part in enhancing ones professional life however when it
comes to kick starting your career, training tends act as a stepping stone and paves the
path for a bright future. College placement can be a gruelling experience if the student
does not have an idea about the same.
Now a days, most of the colleges have tie ups with corporate as well as public sector
who often are looking for young talent and are welcomed to the campus in order to
pick up students who could join their organisation. Having said that, it might sound
like a piece of cake, but is really quite competitive and it is important to be thoroughly
prepared for placement.
Keeping this in mind, most of the engineering as well as management colleges have a
placement cell and a placement committee which helps in arranging interviews and
often helps in pre placement training. Following are few of the areas which are
covered and students are trained in the following areas:
Self-esteem- Pre placement time can be quite daunting as students are not very
experienced in handling interviews and placement methods which leads to loss of self-
esteem. In order to crack an interview one needs to have a very confident body
language. During the pre-placement training, the candidate / student is made to realise
their positives and focus on areas in which they are best at so that it increases their
self-esteem and they learn to portray.
Motivational skills- In order to keep the hope high, it is very important to boost
motivational skills. Pre placement training plays a very important role in doing
exactly that. There are trained professionals who are experts in practising methods and
games which directly or indirectly helps in motivating the students.
Expected workplace behaviour- The very first job can be both exciting as well as
full of anxiety. In order to get rid of anxiety, it is very important to get a brief insight
about the actual working environment. During training, the mentors are able let the
student get an idea about the expected workplace behaviour, ethics and dressing sense
which might ease the situation and may act as effective methodology in breaking ice.
CV and interview skills- Most importantly, pre placement training helps in
formulating an effective CV which not only looks professional but also speaks for
itself. They also help in training the student for the interview process as well as group
discussion. They would be able to provide you with important tips such as body
language, what to do and what to avoid pointers.
Once the above things are sorted then the student can be very confident to face the
placement season and can come out with flying colours. Pre placement training proves
to be a boon for all students, especially those who are going for their very first job

EMPLOYIBILITY SKILLS
USE OF LIFE SKILLS
EMPLOYABLE AND LIFE SKILLS
Employability skills are the core skills and traits that are needed in nearly every job. These are
the general skills that make someone “employable.” Hiring managers almost always look for
employees with these skills.
Employability skills are sometimes called foundational skills or job-readiness skills. They
are soft skills that allow you to work well with others, apply knowledge to solve problems, and
fit into any work environment. They also include the professional skillsthat enable you to be
successful in the workplace. These are seen as transferable skills because you can apply them to
a job in any industry.
Read below for a list of employability skills that employers seek in job candidates. Included is a
detailed list of the five most important employability skills, as well as a longer list of even more
employability skills.
How to Use Skills Lists
You can use these skills lists throughout your job search process. Firstly, you can use these skill
words in your resume. In the description of your work history, you might want to use some of
these keywords.
Secondly, you can use these in your cover letter. In the body of your letter, you can mention one
or two of these skills, and give a specific example of a time when you demonstrated each of
those skills at work.
Finally, you can use these skill words in an interview. Make sure you have at least one example
for a time you demonstrated each of the top five skills listed here.
Of course, each job will require different skills and experiences, so make sure you read the job
description carefully, and focus on the skills listed by the employer.
Also review our other lists of skills listed by job and by type of skill.
Top Five Employability Skills
Communication
All employers look for job candidates with strong communication skills. Communication refers
to one’s ability to convey information clearly to others. Employers want employees with
strong written, verbal, and nonverbalcommunication skills. Part of being a strong communicator
also includes being a good listener; employees need to be able to understand the questions and
concerns of their clients, and listen to their employer’s directions.
Teamwork
Teamwork is important in almost any work setting. If an employee works on a number of group
projects, he or she needs to be able to get along well with others, sharing the workload with
colleagues to complete a goal. Even if an employee does not do a lot of team projects, he or she
still needs to be able to get along with his or her colleagues, working hard to achieve the
company goals.
Critical Thinking
Critical thinking refers to one’s ability to understand, analyze, and interpret information, and
draw conclusions. In any job, an employee will have to assess situations and solve problems.
Employees need to be logical, and make reasoned judgments.
Ethical
Ethics is a broad category that refers to an employee’s principles. Companies want employees
who understand and follow company rules, are honest and trustworthy, and act professionally
and responsibly.
Information Technology (IT) Knowledge
While most employability skills are soft skills, IT is a hard skill that is increasingly required in
almost every job. While jobs in the field of IT (such as computer programmers) require
extensive IT knowledge, every job requires a little bit of experience with information
technology. Employers want job candidates who can use common programs like Microsoft
Office, especially Word and Excel. Any other IT experience is almost always considered a plus.
