within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and
the National Quality Standard. Workers in this industry support the implementation of
approved learning framework, support children’s wellbeing, learning and development.

VCE / VCAL CREDITS CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education
& Care: recognition of up to two units at Unit 1 and 2
level, and two Unit 3 and 4 sequences.
PATHWAYS
On completion of this course students
can opt to go on to study a Diploma of
Early Childhood Education & Care, or
seek employment within the childcare
industry such as childcare assistants,
private nanny, kindergarten assistant
and family day care assistant.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Structured Workplace Learning:
It is required by the VCAA that a minimum
of 120 hours / 3 weeks of SWL be
undertaken for CHC30113 Certificate III in
Early Childhood Education & Care.

Total number of units = 18
15 core units plus
3 elective units consisting of:
• At least 1 must be selected from the electives list
• Up to 2 may be selected from any endorsed Training Pack-
ages or accredited courses - these units must be relevant to
the work outcome.

PRACTICAL PLACEMENT All students who undertake the (CHC30113) Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care will need to
complete a compulsory 120 hours of Practical Placement within an Early Childhood Education & Care setting.
These hours can be done at any time during the course duration, but must be completed by the end date,
and can be done in a number of different ECEC settings.
