Introduction
It is sometimes said that the purpose of business is to be in business. Business disruptions can not only cause financial loss, but also put companies out of business. Clearly, it is the obligation of any management to have a robust Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), to be able to manage unanticipated business disruptions that can put it out of business. Looking at the disruptive events that are taking place globally at this point in time, such as Civil unrest in many parts of the world, War in Libya, Tsunami in Japan, Tremors in other areas, and the prospect of a nuclear catastrophe loom large. The need for BCM readiness is more than ever before. In the year post a disruption, firms on average experience a 107 percent decrease in profits – driven by lower sales and an increase in costs. 43% companies who have suffered business disruptions state that it takes them 2 months or longer to recover fully from the event. Importantly, it is believed that an effective Business Continuity Plan can reduce the total loss by 90%+ - and so investment in Business Continuity preparedness is money well spent. Our BCM GPG workshop provides the right knowledge base for those
wishing to become certified by the BCI examination scheme. Training
methodologies include classroom training, individual/group exercises,
case studies, role-plays, videos and group discussions, Knowledge
checks, quizzes and a mock exam are made use of in order to enhance
the participant learning experience and exam preparation. The CBCI
(Certificate of BCI) examination is held on the last day of the workshop.
