World Cup Rifle Team — Recently equipped with 17 units of SIUS Electronic Target system (2012) partially spon-sored by California Rifle and Pis-tol Association (CRPA).

2012 Highlight: Hosted members of the USA Shooting National Team and the

U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit in April in preparation for the rifle team’s World Cup and Olympic season.

Top Emerging Olympic-Path Athletes: Anna Weilbacher – A 15-year-old sophomore, Weilbacher started shooting shotgun, pistol and rifle in the 4-H Shooting Project about three years ago. About a year and a half ago, she decided that she really enjoyed rifle and has decided to focus only on rifle and wants to pursue it through college. She one day hopes to be an Olympian. She competed at the recent 2013 National Junior Olympic Shooting Cham-pionships where she finished 30th overall in the Women’s 3P

Rifle event and ninth in the J2 (15-17-year-olds) category.

Allison Villa – A 15-year-old sophomore at El Camino High, Villa began shooting in January of 2011 and by October of that year became a member of the Los Angeles Rifle and Revolver Junior Rifle team. Last fall, Villa

participated in several NRA Na-tional team matches and was a part of setting 17 new national NRA records in prone matches. She finished 39th overall at the recent 2013 National Junior Olympic Shooting Champion-ships in the Women’s 3P Rifle event. Attending college has always been one of Villa’s goals and now she has added the goal of shooting for one of the top college rifle teams in the nation. Villa’s long term goals are to be-come a member of the Junior National Team and ultimately the National and Olympic Teams.

Matt Chezm – Trained at LAR&R for several years, now on a rifle scholarship at Ohio University. Qualified as a USA Shooting National Junior Team member in 2012 after his success at the National Junior Olympic Shoot-ing Championships.

Tony Chow - Chow has been shooting competitively since 2009. Goal is to shoot at the in-ternational level and earn a spot on Team USA at the 2014 World Shooting Championships.

David Higgins – Higgins recently placed sixth in the 2013 NCAA Rifle Championships as a fresh-man shooter for the U.S. Air Force Academy and finished ninth overall at the recent Na-

tional Junior Olympic Shooting Championships for Air Rifle while finishing second in the Prone Rifle event.

Melissa Quartarone — An OMRCTC alumnus, Quartarone has been a junior standout in both Air Rifle and Smallbore while at The Uni-versity of Mississippi where she is attending on scholarship.

JS Fielding — An OMRCTC alumni, Fielding has been a freshman standout in both Air Rifle and Smallbore while at Columbus State University. Jay Cross — An OMRCTC alumnus, Cross is another freshman shoot-er at Columbus State University.

He was also the Georgia State 3P Air Rifle State Champion his junior year in High School.

2012 Highlight: IMCI recognized by USA Shoot-ing as the first Certified Training Center for Pistol in the nation . . . Sent four qualifying athletes to the National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships in Colorado Springs. . . IMCI also signed a lease pending approval of the Municipal Zoning Board of Old Bridge, N.J. for its own train-ing facility. Phase 1 will be for eight to 10 shooting ports with plans to install additional elec-tronic targets from SIUS; Phase 2 is for a 10,000 sq ft facility and will include all disciplines of air pistol and air rifle. . . Japa-nese shooter Sara Mikata found IMCI through an internet search. She came to New York City in De-cember 2012 and trained with IMCI coaches for three weeks for private and group lessons. A summer camp is being organized

for Japanese shooters to train with IMCI in June 2013. Mikata is a 2013 IMCI member..
