1992 TO 1996 – IT WAS CONDUCTED THE SECOND INDUSTRIALWASTE INVENTORY THAT WAS FULLFILLED BY APPROXIMATELY1,900 INDUSTRIES.

2010 – IT WAS CONDUCTED THE THIRD WASTE INVENTORY -CONAMA RESOLUTION 313, 10.29.2002, THAT HAD ESTABLISHEDTHE RULES FOR THE WASTE INVENTORY, MAINLY WITH RESPECTTO THE ACTIVITIES THAT GENERATS HAZARDOUS WASTE.

HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT

MAIN ASPECTS:

TO DO THE INVENTORY OF WASTE, MAINLYOF THE HAZARDOUS WASTE, AND KEEPINGITS INFORMATION UP TO DATE.

TO ENFORCE THE GENERATORS OFHAZARDOUS WASTE TO PREPARE THEIRMANAGEMENT PLANS IN AN PROPER WAY.

HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT

MAIN ASPECTS:

TO ESTABLISH THE GOVERNMENT ACTION PLANS, THAT SHOUD BEFEASIBLE AND RE-EVALUATED AND REVIEWED THEN PERIODICALLY.

TO ESTABLISH RESPONSIBILITIES (GENERATORS, TRANSPORTERS, RECIPIENTS) WITH RESPECT TO THE MANAGEMENT OF HARZARDOUS WASTE.

INSULATING OILS AND OTHER MATERIALS WITH PCB CONTENT ≤ 50 PPM• NOT CONSIDERED "PCB WASTE".

TRANSFORMERS WITH INSULATING OILS 50 PPM < PCBs > 500 PPM• OILS MUST BE INCINERATED OR DECONTAMINATED, AND• TRANSFORMERS MAY ONLY BE PUT AWAY IF THEIR COMPONENTS

HAVE PCB CONTENTS < 50 PPM. (ABNT GUIDELINE NBR 8371 ALLOWS TO PUT AWAY WITHOUT PRIOR ANALYSIS).

TRANSFORMERS WITH INSULATING OILS ≥ 500 PPM PCB• OILS AND TRANSFORMERS ARE CONSIDERED CONTAMINATED AND

MUST BE INCINERATED OR DECONTAMINATED.

TREATMENT OF WASTE WITH PCBs

OILS, SOLVENTS AND OTHER FLUIDS CONTAMINATED WITHPCBs, SOLID PERMEABLE MATERIALS CONTAMINATED WITHPCBs (CONTAINMENT ABSORBENTS, PPE, CLOTHINGS,GROUNDS, FLOORS, PAPERS AND WOODS OF THE ACTIVEPART OF CAPACITORS)

INCINERATION• THE DESTRUCTION EFFICIENCY IS OF 99.999%.• THE MINIMUM GAS RESIDENCE TIME AT 1.200 OC IS THE 2 SECONDS. • THE MAXIMUM EMISSION OF DIOXINS AND FURANS (TEQ OF 2,3,7,8

TCDD) IS THE 0.5 ηG/NM3 .
