趣旨
古代ギリシア・ローマに発する古典古代文化は西洋のみ
ならず非西洋の世界にも広がるグローバルな文化となった
が、現代世界とどのように関わっているのか。本セミナーでは、
イタリアから２名の専門家を招聘し、１つは古典古代の言
語と文化が現在のイタリアの学校というローカルな現場でどの
ように教えられ伝承されているのかを、もう１つは古代ローマ
の上流層で好まれた別荘生活がいかなる意義を有し、現代
のライフスタイルにどのように継承されているのかを報告しても
らい、参加者と討議を行います。
Description
The culture of classical antiquity that
originated in Ancient Greece and Rome
became a global culture, spreading throughout
the Western world and beyond. In what way is it
relevant in the contemporary world? We have
invited two experts from Italy to present at this
seminar. Prof. Puliga’s presentation is about the
ways in which the languages and cultures of
classical antiquity are taught and passed down
in present-day local schools in Italy, once the
epicenter of the Roman Empire. Prof. Rosati will
speak about the significance of villa life, which
was favored among social élites in Ancient
Rome, and how it has survived in contemporary
times. The presentations will be followed by a
discussion with participants.
