Our vision for cell and gene therapy (CGT) platform The CGT platform unit is an integrated discovery- development-supply unit which will ensure that ground-breaking CGT medicines are seamlessly and expertly discovered and manufactured for clinical development and beyond. The Cell and Gene Therapy Discovery Research (CGT DR) department works with GSK’s Therapy Areas, including Rare Diseases, Oncology and Immuno-Inflammation, to develop their portfolio of pre-clinical candidates. The focus of CGT DR is to design transgene/vector/carrier combinations for optimal performance and to conduct pre-clinical in vitro and in vivo testing with the aim to understand how these complex products interact with the biology at the cell, tissue and organisms level. Another important mission of the CGT DR team is to identify, incubate and develop novel technologies to enable and accelerate the discovery of future CGT medicines. We have three critical leadership roles to offer: • Head of Transgene Discovery (WD27428): You will be responsible for developing and leading a team in the design of transgene cassettes and delivery of associated reagents. • Head of Transgene Delivery (WD40412): You will be accountable for building and leading a team of scientists responsible for optimising and expressing transgenes within a range of viral and non-viral vectors for optimal delivery. • Research Projects Leader (WD27427): You will provide clear leadership of projects from concept to preclinical development.
