• Developing Slides Using PowerPoint– Microsoft PowerPoint is a software program

designed for electronic slides– Online App: Google Presentation software

can also be used.– Freeware: Open Office Presentation

PowerPoint Window Terms

• Title Bar: displays the filename and program

• Ribbon: displays tabs that organize program commands by groups

• Command Buttons: are displayed on each ribbon. They execute a command or display a drop-down menu of options

PowerPoint Window Terms

• Slides Tab: displays small images of the slides that have been created

• Outline tab: displays the number of each slide and the text that is included on each slide

• Placeholders: boxes with dotted borders that are part of most slide layouts. – May hold titles, body text, or objects

(charts, tables, pictures)

PowerPoint Window Terms

• Notes Pane: allows you to key notes about the slide

• View buttons: allows you to view slides several different ways depending on what you are doing.

• Status bar: displays information such as slide number and theme name

• Help button: provides quick access to program Help

• Scroll bar: move to slides by clicking and dragging the bar or clicking the arrow buttons

• Previous Slide/Next Slide buttons display previous or next slide in presentation window

PowerPoint View Buttons

• Normal: used for creating and editing slides

• Slide sorter: displays thumbnails of the slides. – Allows you to view several slides at a time

and to sort or rearrange slides

• Slide Show: used to play the presentation. Can also press F5 key on keyboard
