Christmas Cones What You'll Need Making the Cones Two circles of contrasting fabric, 8 inches across. Four lengths of ribbon, 10 inches long. Eight small buttons, for decoration. These Christmas cones are cute items to hang from a tree that can be filled with treats or small gifts. Cut your fabric pieces, you could use a dinner plate to mark your circles. Cut the fabric into quarters. Take one quarter, and pin a ribbon strip, facing inwards, 1.5 inch from each side of the curve. Tack the ribbon and remove the pins. Place contrasting piece on top, right sides together, and sew along the curved edge. Open out the joined piece, and refold it, right sides facing inwards, to create an elongated diamond shape (below). Pin the sides together, and sew along them, leaving a 2 inch space on the fabric that will be the inside of the cone. Trim the seam allowance, and fold through the right way, stich the gap in the lining closed. Push the lining fabric into the outer fabric, and carefully press. You’ll be able to make four cones with the original circle of fabric you cut. Pattern reproduced from Half Yard Christmas, by Debbie Shore. Thank you! 1.5 inch
