    PROJECT 01: MILLENNIUM DOME

The Millennium Dome, colloquially referred to simply as The Dome, is the original

name of a large dome-shaped building, originally used to house the Millennium

Experience, a major exhibition celebrating the beginning of the third millennium.

Located on the Greenwich Peninsula in South East London, England, the exhibi-

tion was open to the public from 1 January to 31 December 2000.

    PROJECT 01: MILLENNIUM DOME

The project and exhibition was the subject of considerable political contro-

financial problems. Eventually it was closed on December 31, 2000.

    PROJECT 02: BIG DIG

Recognized as the largest, most complex, and technologically challenging

highway project in the history of the United States, the Central Artery/Tunnel

Project significantly reduced traffic congestion and improved mobility in one

of America's oldest and most congested major cities. In addition, it helped

improve the environment, and established the groundwork for continued

economic growth for Massachusetts and all of New England.
