History
The academy is raised in 2005 and has 14 institutional members. All the employees of the 14 institutional members, working in the field of eating disorders, are automatic member of the NAE and further we have individual members. At this moment the NAE has about 500 members.Members are psychologist, psychiatrits, nurses, dieticians, pediatricians, doctors of internal medicine, pschomotor- and creative therapists.

- Every 2 years a national congress on eating disorders- Every other year a scientific meeting with the members organized
by one of the institutional members- Organization of courses for new workers in the field of eating
disorders- Courses on special subjects f.i. relapse prevention- Three special interest groups (SIGs) existing: on child and
adolescents, on long-lasting eating disorders and around the subject of family therapy
- Every 3 months a newsletter is send to the members and almost weekly anouncements with a calender of conference listings, workshops, job opportunities, research and treatment information
- Twice a year a membership meeting - Sisterhood organisation of the AED- The website is full of information about the latest developments in
key areas of the eating disorders fields and a forum for membersto discuss topics
