Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam appointed Kathryn Wall Olita of Clarksville as Circuit Court judge for the 19th Judicial District, which serves Montgomery and Robertson counties. The appointment fi lls a new trial court judgeship established this year by the Tennessee General Assembly.

Olita has practiced law for 15 years in Middle and West Tennessee, most recently with the fi rm Batson Nolan in Clarksville since 2006. Her current practice also includes serving as board attorney to the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. Olita began her practice at Rosenblum & Reisman in Memphis, where she worked from 2003-2006.

Olita received her law degree from the University of Memphis and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville.

Olita and her husband, Aaron, have two children, Charlie, 12, and Polly, 9. They are active members of the Madison Street United Methodist Church in Clarksville.

Clarksville Academy, a Pre-K through 12th grade private college preparatory school, announced that Jennifer Hinote will serve as the seventh Head of School at Clarksville Academy.

Mrs. Hinote has over 29 years of comprehensive experience in

education. She comes to Clarksville Academy from Oak Hill School in Nashville, where she served as Head of School for eight years. Prior to that, she was Middle School Division Head at Charlotte Country Day School, in Charlotte NC.

Mrs. Hinote earned a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education from Western Carolina University.

Jennifer and her husband, Lloyd, have been married for 32 years. They are parents to two adult sons. Landon lives in Nashville, and Justin and his wife Tara live in Fairfax, VA with their three children.

The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to present The 2018 Outstanding Farm Family of the Year Award to Ronny and Ginny McKinney.

Sometimes dreams actually do come true, as in the case of this year’s Outstanding Farm Family recipient. In 1990, this couple purchased the husband’s home farm, where he spent his youth and early adult years.

The dream for this couple was to renovate the homeplace while still living and working in Stewart County. That, for the couple, proved to be an impossible task. However, in 1994, the hus-band retired and started farming full time, and the couple built and moved into a new house on the homeplace.

They raised tobacco and beef cattle, while she worked full time, and continued to raise tobacco until the tobacco buyout. The wife retired and became a fulltime farm hand.

After the tobacco buyout, the couple concentrated on increas-ing their cattle herd and hay production, incorporating a hay ac-cumulator and grappler into the operation. This allowed them to remain self-su cient and reduce the need for additional labor.

The wife had a lifelong dream to own a TN Walking Horse, this dream also became a reality and a year later, the husband

Hire With Confi dence, Fire Without Fear, Tame Toxic Employees and Put Your Team on the Fast Track to Record-Shattering Success.

This is a world class professional development course by Glenn Sheparddesigned specifi cally for supervisors on the front line, who directly manage two or more employees. It's for managers who are "in the trenches", like the restaurant manager who can't open tonight because three of his servers didn't show up for work, the dentist who spends as much time dealing with her employees as treating patients, etc.

Look at what attendees have to say:

"This was my second seminar with Glenn and I have truly enjoyed and learned a lot from both. I look forward to attending again. — Jessie Quarles, H/cc Habitat for Humanity, Hopkinsville, KY

"I can't wait to get back to the o ce and put what I learned into practice." — Jennifer Milauckas, Progressive Directions, Inc., Clarksville, TN

"The is the best informative learning seminar I have attended

in many years Glenn you are right on and are dynamic. — Dale Jackson, PDI., Clarksville, TN

The Chamber has worked out a great deal for you. Managers have paid as much as $1,295 to hear Glenn Shepard speak. As a member of the Chamber, you may attend for only $199, - your 4th company registration is FREE! Non-chamber mem-bers are $249. This seminar is approved for 5.00 (General) recertifi cation credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR re-certifi cation through the HR Certifi cation Institute and SHRM.
