We are happy to inform you that the Visakhapatnam Branch
has launched a POS machine at Branch Premises for the
benefit of the Students and Members. I request all the
members to avail cashless payment facility towards seminar
fee/purchase of publications/forms etc. My sincere thanks
to CA V S PrakasaRao for coordinating with Andhra Bank
and speeding up the process of installation of swiping
machine at branch.I thank CA M V Sarma Past Chairman for
initiating the first transaction on POS Machine.

on 6th January 2018, we are organizing a 6 Hour CPE Seminar
on Representation Before Income Tax Authorities by Senior
Member CA BalajiRao& Practical Issues in Filing of Returns,
Provisions relating to E way bills/ Documentation of invoices-
Debit-Credit Notes under GST by CA AashishAgarwal. Both
the resource persons are from Vizianagaram. I request all
the members to attend and make it a grand success.
On 20th January we are finalizing a full day seminar. Session
on RERA Act will be addressed byCA ChEswar Mohan, Session
on Preparation of Final of Accounts using Excel Techniques
will be addressed by CA K RamakoteswarRao, and Session
on Use of Technology and Automation to transform Services
rendered by CA’s - will be addressed by & CA VytlaSrinivas. I
request all the members to attend and make it a grand
success
On 26th January on Republic Day I am planning a Professional
Social Responsibility Activity on that day. We are planning
to distribute Artif icial Leg (Jaipur Leg) instruments to
deserved beneficiaries on that day. We are coordinating with
a Trust towards planning the equipment’s, logistics, medical
support and identifying the beneficiaries. If a member can
donate Rs.2500/- we can support one beneficiarywith a

Wish you Happy New Year 2017 !
A New Year always comes with the promise and hope of
better times to come. Let us welcome 2018 by gearing
up for the tremendous professional opportunities that
will beckon us in this New Year.
The year past was a wonderful year and the Branch was
overflowing with Members, actively participating in all
the events conducted/hosted by the Branch.It gives me
a feeling of satisfaction of the position i held with your
trust and faith. I thank all the Resource Persons and the
participants for honoring us with this great success
Members, the last date for complying with the CPE Hours
requirement for the Calendar Year 2017 – has been
extended from 31st December, 2017 to 28th February,
2018. The members who would not complete their
respective CPE hours requirement up to 31st December,
2017 for the Calendar year 2017, are requested to kindly
complete the same at the earliest and latest by 28th
February, 2018

sponsor as many beneficiaries as he can do so. Whoever

On 27th January we are finalizing a full day seminar . Pre
Lunch Session on Company Law 2013- Latest
Amendments, and Procedural Aspects relating to
Condonation Delay Scheme 2018 by CA
ChinnsamyGanesan from Chennai and Post Lunch session
we have interactive discussion on Pros and Cons of
proposed Financial Resolution and Deposit Insurance
(FRDI) Bill 2017
We are also planning to conduct 6 Study Circle meetings
towards preparation for Assessment Test 2nd Batch of
Certificate Course on GST commencing from 10th January.
The month that was – December 2017
On 2nd December 2017, we have organizedOne full day
seminar on “Taxation of NPOs and Trusts”, addressed by
Stalwarts’ in the profession CA Anjani Kumar Sharma and
CA Dr.Akhil Jindal. Deliberations during the sessions were
very informative and useful for members. I thank both
the resource persons for accepting our invitation to
address the members and for their excellent presentation.
I thank the whole team of CC NPO committee of ICAI for
giving us an opportunity host this seminar.
On 8th, 9th & 10th December, We have successfully
organised a Three Day Training Programme on GST for CA
Staff. The Program was well attended by 170 Delegates of
which membersparticipation consisting of 76. The
presentations by eminent speakers CA Sangu Rama
Krishna, CA S Vignesh, CA V Bhargavi, CA Anil Bezawada,
CA B Vinay Gandhi, CA M ChalapathyRao, Team Members
of Tally- George and Lakshmi Narayana on GST were very
well received by the delegates. We got excellent feedback
from the participants and I sincerely thank all the all the
resource perosns for making the training programme a
successful one. My thanks to Indirect Tax Committee of
ICAI for giving opportunity to host the training program
for CA staff at Visakhapatnam Branch.
As part of Career Counseling Activities, one more CA
Awareness Program organised on 14th December 2017 at
Rotary Club, SompetaSrikakulam District where students
from four junior colleges were participated. My heartfelt
thanks to CA PV S P Kumar, Past Chairman for addressing
students through all the awareness programs. I Thank CA. P
V Krishna Rao and CA P Prasanna Kumar brothers for
coordinating the program at Sompeta. I thank the
management of Rotary club for arranging venue logistic and
all four college managements for deputing their students
towards participation in the CA Awareness Program
On 16th December 2017, we had a Full Day seminar on
Accounting Standards addressed by CA. M. P. Vijaya Kumar,
Central Council Member, Senior Members of our Branch CA.
V. S. N. Murthy and CA. D. Prasanna Kumar, Past Chairman
SIRC of ICAI. The members present expressed their immense
satisfaction. My sincere thanks to senior member of our
Branch CA V S N Murtygaru for sharing his rich experience
with the members. My heartfelt thanks to our honourable
central council Member CA M P Vijay Kumar for accepting
our invitation despite his busy schedule and to share the
helm of affairs with the august gathering. My sincere thanks
to CA D Prasanna Kumar past chairman SIRC for his excellent
presentation on the topic in spite of short notice of meeting.
The program was well attended and well received by
delegates I thank all the resource persons for making the
seminar lively and interactively.
On 26th December 2017, Team SICASA organised an
interactive Session for students on Opportunities available
for fresh CA’s and Career Guidance program by CA Sanjiv
Ray. The program was well attended and well received by
Students. I Thank CA V Chandra Sekhar Past Chairman for
coordinating the program.
On 30th December 2017, we have organised Peer Reviewers
Training Programme for Members. The sessions were taken
up by senior member of our Branch CA C V RamanaRao, two
more eminent faculties CA S Ramesh from Chennai and CA
Vimal Chopra from Jaipur. Total 62 Delegates were
registered for the training programme.All the Resource
Persons made excellent presentations in a very detailed
manner for the benefit of the proposed reviewers. I thank
all the resource persons for accepting our invitation to
address the members and for their excellent deliberations
on the topic.My heartfelt thank the Chairman of the Peer
Review Board CA Jay Cherria and his team members for
giving visakhapatnam Branch an opportunity to host the
training program.
