    Nurturing the Heart

  • The 2016-2017 school year was highlighted by Mother of Providence receiving the coveted SAGE award from the Healy Education Foundation. The SAGE award recognizes the Healey Education Foundation school with the highest increase in Annual Fund dollars for the past fiscal year. However, it was also a year of change for the school as we lost our Advancement Director, Ms. Linda Rooney, who had done a truly remarkable job leading our development efforts. We are also losing our Business Manager, Ms. Rosemary Endres who has been so crucial in developing and managing our budgets. We wish to thank them both for their many contributions to our school.

As we begin 2017-2018, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Ann Trevisan as our new Advancement Director. Ann comes to us with a strong background in Marketing and Catholic Education. We are very fortunate to have Ann on our MPRC team and we are excited about working with her.

Our principal, Ms. Therese Waters has done yet another remarkable job in leading our school to a fifth consecutive year of increased enrollment. She is truly the engine that powers our school.

Please take a minute to review this Annual Report and to appreciate last year’s accomplishments. Once you do, I am sure that you will share in the board’s enthusiasm and optimism for the future of Mother of Providence Regional Catholic School.

    Best Regards,

Joseph W. DoughertyChairman, Board of Limited Jurisdiction

How exciting that we have completed five full years as our regional school! So much has been accomplished in this time. I am grateful to our pastors, faculty and staff, families, Board of Limited Jurisdiction members, donors, and everyone who has helped us along the way. The staff and I cannot accomplish all that we do without your help and support.

    In these five years, we:

    • GRADUATED sixty-eight students, who received over $255,000 in scholarships! The members of our first graduating class are now freshmen in college!

    • EXPANDED our enrollment from 210 in our opening year to 254 in our fifth year – an eight percent increase when many schools are seeing a decrease in enrollment numbers.

    • INCREASED our participation in our weekly Masses and prayer services, our students lead in song, music ministries, and serve as lectors and altar servers.

    • LEAD as people of service, following the example of our eighth grade student council leaders. We have collected food for the poor, prepared breakfast bags for local food banks, provided items to area animal shelters, collected hats for pediatric cancer patients, sent letters and items to service men and women, wrote letters to pre-Cana couples, and much more.

    • PARTNER with our Board of Limited Jurisdiction, which oversees our school in the areas of enrollment, development, facilities and finance. The Board is creating a strategic plan for these areas. The professionals on the Board bring expertise and knowledge that is invaluable to us.

    • PREPARE our students to be leaders in our faith, ready for high school, college and life, and prepare them to be contributing members of their communities.

    • CONTINUE to offer activities such as Drama Club, painting club, Sea Perch, Hand Bell Choir, band, violin, choir, speech and debate team, and others which contribute to a well-rounded education.

With your dedicated support, we are able to update our technology, replace classroom flooring, continue to provide art, music, Spanish, physical education, and technology classes, grow our library collection, offer valuable assemblies, and much more. Thank you for your support of Mother of Providence Regional Catholic School. May God bless you and your families.

    God’s Peace,

    Mrs. Therese WatersPrincipal

Dear Families and Friends of Mother of Providence Regional Catholic School,

    From the Board,

Parent Quotes“We chose Mother of Providence for our son due to the school’s strong academic program and Catholic identity, but what we received was so much more! Caring teachers, responsive administration, friendly families, volunteer opportunities and a wide array of extracurricular activities have helped make Mother of Providence “home” for us.”

    Alicia and Blake Buxton

“We have had an incredible experience with MPRCS over the past 5 years. Both of our sons have attended the school starting in Pre K-4 and have loved every minute of it. Catholic school is a choice and a sacrifice. As a parent, you know that you’ve made the right decision when your child wakes up excited to go to school, spend the day with his teacher and classmates, and learns something new each day. They have become respectful, intelligent, inquisitive and caring children who are ready and willing to continue learning and growing to become responsible contributors to their small worlds now and for their large worlds tomorrow.”

    Vicki Clark

“We are delighted with the education our daughter and son are receiving at MPRCS. The wonderful sense of community, opportunities for them to engage in service work, and many extra-curricular activities are icing on the cake.”
