Goodbye and Thank You to Lee & Dad’s Grocery

September 29 was the last day for Lee and Dad’s Grocery. A large group of customers, friends, and well wishers con-gregated at the store to wish Dan Gustafson a great re-tirement and to thank the Lee and Dad’s staff for being a great community asset. Lee and Dad’s will certainly be missed!

Dear Members:

WOW is all I can say about the 2015 Fall Festival! Each year it gets big-ger and better. Thank you so much to all of you who sponsor the festival. Without you there would be no festival!

We served over 2200 people and sold every scrap of meat! The park was full of great arts and crafts vendors, home-based businesses, displays, food vendors, and kids’ activities. The Inflatables had a line all day! The Car Show had 65 entries and grows each year. We do have Fall Festival T-shirts left and might I add they make great Christmas gifts!

The weather gods shined down on us with two beautiful days in a row, one to set up and another for the festival. The high school had a great week of Homecoming activities including volleyball matches, the football game, soccer matches, and the crowning of the King and Queen. Speak-ing of soccer, the raffle was again very successful and the Blitz FC/Bel-grade Soccer will be receiving well over $4,000 for their fields, equip-ment, and scholarships.

Thank you to the following chairs and the folks who assisted them:

Tudor and Kristi Gee, John Youngberg, and Dan Holland: BBQ Chairs

Shayla Mills: Raffle Chair

Tracy Rassley: Parade Chair with Susan Swimley and Teri Palagi

Linda Klompien: Park Activities Chair

Dan Guenther: Car Show Chair and his Collison Center Crew

Renee Koenig: Chamber Booth (selling raffle tickets and products)

These folks are the hardest working people; I can’t thank them enough for their months of planning and work on the festival.

Check out the car show, parade, and raffle winners on pages 4 and 5. You will see the full list of all the volunteers in the “Thank You” ad in the Bel-grade News! It is a big list, which goes to show that it takes a ton of people to make the festival a success. Someone told me that our parade was the best one in the state! Thank you again for everyone’s part in making the Fall Festival the best ever!
