The hover card makes it
EXTREMELY easy to
change your subscription
options for that person. If
you do change your options,
it confirms the change and
asks if you want to unfriend
that person as well.

If you don’t want to see every activity your friends are making, you
can “unsubscribe” to their activity stories.
“Activity Stories” are the updates about your friends moves inside
Facebook, including which new Pages they’ve liked, who they
recently “friended”, events they have RSVP’d to, etc.

Cutting Back On Posts
You will still see their
updates in your Ticker
and in your News Feed
when they posts in
their status bar.

Give Your Posts Some MeatThe minute you put some real meat into your post is
when a “good enough” post comes to life and gains
real viral potential.
• Entertain with a personal story or anecdote.
• Educate with the “meat”–giving your readers the
purpose, or the “why” behind your content.
• Empower your readers with a single lesson, action
or takeaway. If you follow up great, relevant content
with a way to make it work, you’ve EMPOWERED
your audience to act!

Bonus Tip - For Pages!Recent Change:
Facebook users no longer have to LIKE a Facebook Page in order
to interact with it. This means that anyone can post a comment
on your Page or interact with your wall, no matter if they are a
fan or not.
www.AmyPorterfield.com © 2011 Amy Porterfield, Inc.
Bonus Tip - For Pages! Why this is good: Your reach and exposure is expanded - and the
absence of a barrier to interact will increase your overall
engagement.
Not so great: Users are not as compelled to click LIKE - and
that means you won’t get into their News Feed if they don’t. Now
it’s even more important to offer an incentive for clicking Like.

#2: Go Public

Why Use The Subscribe Button? Here are some things to think about . . .
• Allows you to make your personal profile more public by
giving your subscribers access to your public updates. It increases
your opportunity to connect with more people on Facebook.
• When someone subscribes to your Profile, your posts then show
up in your Ticker and News Feed.
• You can use the dropdown menu next to the Post button when
you update your status - this allows you to control who can see
your posts.

#2: Go PublicThere are two ways you can look at this:
1) Go Public so more people can be exposed to your content,
but you don’t need to add strangers to your Profile.
2) You like to keep your Profile private, so you keep it locked
down, but you allow people to subscribe to your public
posts. That way you get to be selective as to what they see.
