self-absorbed, self-aggrandizing, self-admiring, self-advancing, self-besot, self-esteeming, self-concerned, self-contained, self-devoted, self-managed,self-indulgent, self-interested, self-loving, self-occupied, self-pleasing, self-seeking, self-serving, self-sufficient,Selfish!

2TI 3:1-4 Difficult times ahead! WHY?

Self-Centeredness!Selfishness!

Lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive,

disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of

the good, treacherous, rash, conceited,

lovers of pleasure rather than

lovers of God..

“SELFISH PEOPLE, ALL THEY WANT, THEY

GETS -EXCEPT THE HAPPINESS”

selfishness is..

• “caring unduly or supremely for oneself, regarding one’s own comforts or advantage in disregard or at the expense of others.”

• ECC 2:4-11. Solomon’s own testimony that a self-centered life does not pay off in happiness and satisfaction

Lesson: When you are full of yourself, You are full of pride, and you have no room for God. God resist the proud!

• Dan 4:37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.

PHI 2:3-8 A Call for Change!

• Phi 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

• MAT 16:24-27 Jesus’ Teaching Essential for Christian Life! • Deny yourself. • Take up your cross. • Follow Me.

Convinced: 2CO 5:14-151. That Jesus died for all - for

love/life.2. That all died – counted as dead! 3. That all who live should no longer

live for themselves..4. That all who live should live for

Him who died for them and was raised again!

Paul Said: GAL 2:20 “I have been crucified with

Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. “

From Selfish to Selfless to Christ-centered Life.1. Deny Yourself: Do not self-

indulge; surrender your life, pride, rights - to Him!

2. Die to Yourself: Take up your cross daily, have the mind of Christ!

3. Devote Yourself to follow Him, live, suffer and die for Him!
