We are engineers and consultants who believe in the power of design to create a better future.

Our design philosophy is to always make room for the human experience. Ultimately, we measure our success by how well people and communities are served by what we have done.

At its best, good design can regenerate communities, protect natural environments, connect people with data and across vast distances; it can provide new energy solutions, provide efficient transport and create buildings that people are happy to be in. Good design is also robust and longlasting.

We share this design approach with the world’s leading contractors, developers and other infrastructure clients – with whom we regularly collaborate, often as a preferred partner.

Ramboll provides consultancy services across these nine markets: • Buildings • Transport • Environment & Health • Planning & Urban Design• Water • Energy • Oil & Gas • Management Consulting • Telecom

Ramboll is a leading engineering, design and consultancy company founded in Denmark in 1945.

In 1997, Ramboll expanded into India as part of a joint venture with Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) that focussed on transport. Over the years, we have established a position as a market leader within telecommunications, providing services in tower engineering and the supply of Ramboll designed towers. Today, we have almost 750 employees working from five principal offices in Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru, with Gurgaon being the Head Office.

The past decade has seen Ramboll’s capabilities in India grow to encompass Oil & Gas, and we have also built competencies in the buildings

market. A series of additional acquisitions in 2007 and 2011 served to further strengthen Ramboll’s presence in India’s buildings, infrastructure and transport markets as well as broaden the geographical coverage of our office network.

In July 2014, Ramboll’s Global Engineering Centre (GEC) was inaugurated in Gurgaon to provide global expertise using local resources from India. The centre facilitates cooperation between India, business units in Europe and the Middle East specifically in the Buildings and Transport sectors.

In September 2014, and after 16 successful years in our transportation focussed joint venture company L&T-Ramboll Consulting Engineers Limited, Ramboll made a strategic move to sell our shares to our joint venture partner Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T). The sale of the shares has provided Ramboll with the opportunity to pursue our own individual growth strategy to strengthen our presence in India.

Some of our biggest clients include Reliance Industries Limited, Indus Towers, Bharti Infratel, Scania, Amazon and prominent EPC contractors and concessioners.

03 CROSSRAIL Crossrail is a major new transport project to improve access and reduce congestion in London and the south east of England. Eight new underground stations are to be constructed across central London which will enable interchange within existing rail lines. Ramboll undertook detailed analysis of ground movements due to the construction of 42 km of tunnels and the associated stations, portals and shafts. Using this analysis, the team assessed the impact that the ground movements will have on the existing infrastructure including buildings, utilities and rail assets.

04 HOLMESTRAND A new 14 km double track through the city of Holmestrand in Norway will improve the rail services on the Vestfold line. Ramboll is responsible for the design of seven km of the line and Holmestrand station. The station is located in a mountain entrance hall, combined with several access tunnels. A parking place and a public transport node are planned close to the station. Special emphasis has been placed on safety, escape routes, ventilation and noise reduction.

02 COPENHAGEN METRO – CITYRINGEN (CITY CIRCLE LINE) After successful commissioning of Copenhagen Metro, which was awarded as world’s best metro in 2008, Ramboll was selected as a preferred consultant for Cityringen (City Circle Line). The EUR 1.5 billion Cityringen Metro comprises of 16 km twin bore tunnel connecting 17 stations located around the city’s main population, education and workplace centres in central Copenhagen. Ramboll in joint venture with Atkins is responsible for the rolling stock (the train fleet) as well as a large automated train depot which houses maintenance facilities and the control centre for the entire line.

01 EUROPEAN RAIL TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR DANISH RAILThe introduction of a common European Rail Traffic Management System throughout Europe was aimed at improving the connectivity between European cities and capitals that allow seamless travel within the European Union. Denmark will be the first country in Europe to upgrade its entire signalling system to ERTMS at once. Currently, Ramboll is heading the consortium for designing and planning the national rollout of the new system, which is expected to be completed in 2021.

33OTHER MARKETS

In Ramboll Management Consulting, we work across disciplines, uniting our strong academic tradition and widespread sector insight with technical domains to understand the complex environments that our clients navigate in order to deliver long-term solutions.

With scarce economic resources and demographic changes in the population, the daily struggle to secure competitiveness, increase productivity and to deliver measurable results within core areas, now applies to both the public and private sector. We help our clients in this struggle. Making the most of the taxpayer’s money in the city of Stockholm by making the city’s operating models more effective, and developing an in-depth “go-to-market” strategy for a global manufacturer are just two examples. Also, our clients rely on us to deliver measurable results, such as helping a Danish municipality lower its sickness related absence by 27%, creating savings of EUR 1.8 million.

The services in Ramboll Management Consulting are diverse but combinable. We provide the strategic and analytical ground work, the data-driven insights, as well as the required change management processes. As a result, our clients receive our services in many ways; from PowerPoint presentations made for executive decision making, extensive reports and evaluations, to data-packed surveys, training sessions, group processes as well as one-on-one coaching and counselling.

The consultancy industry is often characterised by its ‘lone wolves’. In Ramboll Management Consulting, however, we team up. We believe that the best solutions are designed by teams of cooperating consultants.
