Chapter 10



Welcome back to As You Wish, where I attempt to see if myhaphazard playing can actually get me to 26 generations.

To briefly recap, Colette is my Insane heir with an eatingdisorder. She’s currently upset that her first pregnancydidn’t result in a potential heir.

This is her husband Conrad. He tries very hard to make



Colette got pregnant again immediately and worked outfor most of it. Oddly enough she couldn’t use the treadmill,

just the weights, which as a medical professional, I’drecommend the opposite for a pregnant woman.



Meanwhile, Dean became a toddler and was virtuallyignored by his mother. He was a happy child anyway andcould amuse himself for hours on end. I just hope hecontinues to be this well adjusted. In this family, it’s achallenge.



Aw…how sweet, Dean loves his toy rocket.

“It’s not just a rocket; it’s a Delta IV and burns liquidnitrogen and lox to place payloads into geosynchronousorbit.”

He’s a genius…as if you couldn’t tell.



Colette’s second pregnancy passed quickly anduneventfully and she finally went into labor one pleasantmorning, totally freaking out the maid.



Welcome baby Dahlia. She’s Brave and Loves theOutdoors and…wait, what’s she doing on the floor?



That’s the only reason you rolled wishes for grandchildrenisn’t it?

“Birds gottafly. Fish gottaswim. I gotta be me.”



She makes a great Mad Scientist doesn’t she?



Ah, the perks of maxing the science career. Billie’s first act withthe ray gun was to “experiment” on the TV and by“experiment” I mean steal cable.

“What’s the point of being a world famous scientist if I don’thave cable?”

You could always pay for it like everyone else.

Colette continued to battle her demons, sometimes moresuccessfully than others.



When she was thin, she got along better with Conrad andwas more productive around the house. But as shegained weight, she withdrew, avoiding her family.Somehow, she became pregnant again shortly after Dahliawas born.



Conrad was very involved in Dean’s toddler years.“Come on kiddo, walk to Daddy, you can do it!”

He really hoped his son would take after him and beathletic as he got older.



Dahlia grew into a toddler and was doted on by hermother.

“If I leave her alone, the garden gnome will bite off hertoes.”





Billie remained faithful to her true love.“Oh Winston, I can’t wait to join you in the EternalDarkness!”

“In due time, my love. You’re not finished here yet.”



It figures Billie would be my first Sim to woohooa ghost. Idon’t think anyone else has had the huevos for that.



Since her previous child was a girl, Colette was undermuch less pressure during her third pregnancy. (Don’t tellher, but I’m hoping for a second girl, so I can have an heirand a spare.)

“What was that?”

Nothing. Carry on.



Dean grew into an Athletic child, making his father’sdreams come true.



Forum trolling again Billie?“Why do you always think the worst? I’m researchingeating disorders to try and get my daughter the help sheneeds. Sheesh, kill one maid and you’re demonized forlife.”

Sorry Billie, it’s just that, you know…I’ve met you.



“How are you feeling, dear?”“Oh Mom, sometimes I just want to take the kids andleave so Conrad can move on with someone worthy of him, but sometimes I just want to kiss him and hug himand hold him tight.”



“Sweetie, Conrad doesn’t want anyone but you. He’sbeen desperately in love with you since you were kids.Plus, I’ve already had a chat with him about yourcondition…”

“Oh no! You didn’t! You know it didn’t go well last time.”

“It’s OK dear, I think you’ll find him much more receptive if ”



“Sometimes, I think that the government wires beetleswith microchips and sends them out to spy on people, butsometimes I think the beetles just want to be my friends.”

“OK...”

Colette and Conrad had a long talk about her problems,her fears, and her constant battles with food and self-



“So, how did it go, hon?”“I think it went well. He didn’t freak out or anything.”



“Conrad loves you so much. You should really open up tohim more and let him in. He just wants to make youhappy.”

“I know, Mom. It’s just so hard.”



“Well, I’m not going to be around forever. I’m getting upthere in years. It’ll be time for me to join Winston soon. I

just want to make sure you’ll be taken care of after I’vegone.”

“Don’t talk like that! I don’t want to even think aboutlosing you!”



This kind of look from Conrad can only mean one thing…



Baby number three is on the way!



Colette drove herself and Conrad to the hospital since herfirst home delivery was not a pleasant memory for her.Why she didn’t let him drive is beyond me.

“He’s not the one being pummeled internally by this kid.He didn’t have the appropriate sense of urgency.”

I see your point.



This is Dennis, an Absent-Minded Virtuoso.“Another boy? I don’t know what to do with a boy. Hemay as well be another species.”

You’ll be fine. Conrad will help you.

“He will, won’t he?”



Sadly, with the birth of Dennis came tragedy as well. Jenny the Fish passed on after several days of neglect. The coroner lists the cause of death as Starvation. Thecase is still pending.



You’re making Mac & Cheese? How is that evil?“Everything’s evil when I do it.”

I suppose.

“Besides, I want to make sure there’s a good supply of leftovers in the fridge.”



“Colette, I just wanted to let you know how much I loveyou. You’ve always been my favorite daughter.”

“Oh Mom, I love you too. But what’s bringing this up all of a sudden?”



“I’m old, dear. I don’t have much time left. Just promiseme you’ll talk to Conrad and let him help you.”

“I…”

“Promise me.”

“OK…I promise…”



“Winston, I’m ready.”



“Is that you, Winston? When did you get intoleather?...No, I like it…Warm up the hot oil, Mama’scoming home.”



“Oh Mr. Reaper, how could you take my Mommy fromme?!”

TRUST ME LADY, I PUT IT OFF AS LONG AS I COULD.SHE STILL GIVES ME THE HEEBIE-JEEBIES.



RIP Billie Legacy: wife, mother, collector of dead husbands.She was delightfully evil, but loved her family…especially

her Good brother Brendan and her Insane daughterColette. In all the years I’ve been playing Sims, she’s oneof my favorites. *sniff* I’ll miss her.



Colette was still mourning her mother when she startedfeeling ill.

“Urg…I don’t’ feel so good. I think the apple I had forbreakfast is fighting with the tomato I had for lunch.”



“Why won’t my body behave and do what I want it to?” That’s morning sickness, Colette. You’re pregnant again.

“Again? Without Mom here to help? What am I going todo?”

Well, as we’ve been telling you for a couple of chaptersnow, ou have our husband to hel ou.



Dahlia grew up and became Inappropriate. There’s a lot of that going on in this family it seems.



Dean just studied and skilled and made friends. He’s agood kid, just not all that interesting.



Colette’s pregnancy progressed well. She learned ways tomanage her stress and found fishing very relaxing, thoughI don’t think she ever remembered to actually bait herhook.



“Oh no, the baby’s coming and you’re out of slides! You’regoing to leave me in labor for another chapter break aren’tyou?”

Yep..sorry.“But I want to have this baby now!”Sorry, check back next time to see the new addition to thefamily. Will she have another boy or will Dahlia have somecom etition for heir? How will she o on without her mother?



“Is that mom screaming in the living room?’“Yep.”

“And Shella’s just going to let her scream until she getsaround to posting another chapter?”

“Looks that way.”

“It’s no wonder mom’s nuts.”
