– Produces the hormones estrogen and progesterone

– Stores and releases female reproductive cells, called eggs.

– Allows fertilization to take place– Nourishes and protects the

developing child until it is able to survive outside the female’s body.

Prevents 4 strains of the Human papilloma virus, which can cause cervical cancer
