Cereal Box Book Report

A. Front – the front of the box will be used as a cover or title page. You need to draw a picture, write the title of the book, the author of the book and your name.

B. Sides – On one side of the box, you need to list the ingredients. The ingredients are the main character (s), the setting, the problem, the events, the climax and the ending. On the other side, you need to write a brief summary of the book and tell whether or not you liked the book and why.

C. Back – Create an activity to go with the story. It can be a maze, a crossword puzzle, a word scramble, a board game or any activity of your choice.

D. Inside – Inside the box put two things that go along with the story.

Book Jacket- create a book jacket. Using 8 ½ x 11 paper, fold it in half to make the jacket.

A. On the front cover, write the title of the book, the author and the illustrator’s name. Draw and color a picture that goes along with the story.

B. On inside cover, in complete sentences write a summary of the story. Be sure to include the main characters, setting, problem and solution.

C. On the back cover, write at least 5-7 sentences giving your opinion of the book and a recommendation for or against the book.

Diary – Write 2 diary entries that one of the story’s main characters might have kept before and after the book’s events. Remember that the character’s thoughts and feelings are important in a diary.

Story Scene – Draw and color a scene from the story. Write a descriptive paragraph about the scene and why you chose it.
