Characters and mise en scene

By Rebecca Hay and Katy Marwood

Young female

• We provided our actress, Oceana, with black clothing; including ripped jeans, a simple top and boots. This conforms with the genre of our music video and is arguably stereotypical for teenagers. We also supplied the props which included a silver heart locket and a £20 note which could be used to buy the drugs. As for makeup, we chose black heavy eyeliner as our inspiration for her character was a character from Skins, Effy Stonem.

Make up

• The outfit you can see was all provided by us; we purchased the ripped jeans and black top from Primark. The necklace was from a local jewelry shop and we bought it for £3.

During research and planning, when we were planning the character of the young female, we made a polyvore of the desired or typical outfit. We have followed this ensemble and bought the clothing articles inexpensively, keeping our budget as low as possible whilst also maintaining a standard we want.
