In the last years Charity Way Foundation while working in India and Pakistan has found that there is need great deal of our attention to help people in these countries. CWF presently works in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand in India and Karachi in Pakistan. Alhamdolillah its intervention has helped transform lives of thousands of people in these places. It has successfully implemented a number of projects in the areas of health, education, housing, safe drinking water, vocational training and livelihood.

“Those needy ones who are wholly wrapped up in the cause of Allah, and who are hindered from moving about the earth in search of their livelihood especially deserve help. He who is unaware of their circumstances supposes them to be wealthy because of their dignified bearing, but you will know them by their countenance, although they do not go about begging of people with importunity. Health Care ($104,353.79)

Charity Way Foundation's eye surgery program is one of its longest running and successful programs. In 2014, it performed 750 eye surgeries. All these surgeries were free of cost to each patient. CWF provided 10 beds to an eye hospital in the Nawada district of Bihar to facilitate eye surgery of patients.

It has organized 10 medical camps in which eye checkups of 3500 patients in the villages of Bihar was organized.

The Patna City clinic has taken care of 4,046 patients in 2014 at a cost of $1.98 per patient. This clinic has a good lab facility and provides basic medication to all patients. Another clinic at Hajiganj in suburb of Patna has taken care of 2,468 patients in 2014 at a cost of $2.94 per patient.

A total of 1,269 Tetanus and Hepatitis-B vaccines were given to children and adults in Bihar and Jharkhand.

More than 40 other patients were helped in the form of surgeries (Appendix, Child birth, Hernia, Trauma) and medication in villages and town of Jharkhand and Bihar.

Clinical Chemistry Analyzer provided to Afzal Memorial Thalassemia Hospital on Karachi.

Treatment for Cancer and Thalassemia is extremely expensive and no single organization or hospital can afford the cost alone. CWF is continually helping and taking care of Adult Cancer and Thalassemia patients in Karachi.

CWF is sponsoring four permanent clinics in suburbs of Karachi at Sachal Goth, Lasi Para, Goth Dhani Bakhsh and Kamran Chaurangi. These clinics together provided healthcare to more than 67,066 patients at a cost of less than 48 cents per patient in 2014. All these clinics provide 95% of all medication free of cost to their patients. We have started working to provide lab services to our patients in remote areas.

Abu Qatadah related that the Prophet said: “If anyone would like Allah to save him from the hardships of the Day of Resurrection, he should give more time to his debtor who is short of money, or remit his debt altogether”. (Muslim)

5 Safwan ibn Salim related that the Prophet said: “Anyone who looks after and works for a widow and a poor person is like a warrior fighting for Allah's cause, or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all night”. (Bukhari)

(In reference to the slaves of Allah) "Who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor miserly but keep the golden mean between the two (extremes)”. - The Holy Quran, 25:67

One full time English teacher is appointed by CWF.

Three orphan students of Ishatul Islam School in Bihar Sharif are fully

supported by CWF. Support includes food, lodging and all other expenses.

This school is also provided with a teacher to teach local 180 day scholars.

Forty Eight (48) Maktab schools in Jharkhand and Bihar states are

supported by CWF. It takes care part of the salary of all teachers teaching in

these maktabs. These schools provide basic education to more than 2,600

students living in villages. These maktabs become the only source of

education for the children of villages.

CWF also supplied books, supporting goods and other necessary materials

to many other schools in Bihar and Jharkhand.

In 2014 CWF supported one student to meet monthly expenses during

study in Polytechnic and another student was provided interest free

education loan for preparation for engineering entrance examination. A

loan was provided to a B.Tech student of Jahangirabad College of

Engineering & Technology, Barabanki in India.

Several other students were supported in different parts of Bihar and

Jharkhand for other educational needs. CWF picks good students who

belong to low income families for her/his career growth.

In 2014 CWF started an educational project in Chitral, Pakistan; where 2

family students at different levels of education were sponsored. CWF is

providing school fee, books and other basic needs of students.

CWF arranged a teacher training session for Madarsa teachers on

Understanding Quran by a team of experts from Hyderabad to improve

teaching learning processes in Arabic. It organized professional

development programs on language and science each for teachers. It also

organized a lecture towards understanding Islam.

Education ($ 43,179.18)

Two Rahbar Coaching Centers are fully sponsored by CWF. Rahbar Coaching

Centres are free tuition centres conceived by “Bihar Anjuman”. It aims to

provide the best education to the students belonging to marginalized

sections among Muslim community. It enrolls students of class 8, 9 and 10

admitted in government schools. Presently there are 99 students at Nawada

centre and 75 students at Hajipur centre. In the 2015 board examination,

10 and 20 students have appeared from Nawada and Hajipur centers

respectively.

CWF is collaborating with 'Rahmani-30' which is a unique organization in

Bihar by participating in rent of building and facilities. It prepares class 10

young and bright Muslim students for the prestigious Indian Institute of

Technology (IIT) free of cost which includes their two years stay.

The An-Noor English School at Jogachak village in Kawakol block of Nawada

district of Bihar serves more than 492 students from play group to grade 7.

In 2014 a vehicle was purchased for the school to transport students from

remote areas.

The girl's boarding school 'Jamiatul Qazi Al Islamia Lil banat' was adopted in

2008 in the village Topia of Giridih district of Jharkhand has 85 girls in the

boarding house. CWF is continuously supporting its food program and

vocational training facility.

Phuldih School is having 35 full time students in boarding. This school also

provides education to at least 160 students from the surrounding areas.

CWF supports teacher salaries, food, clothing and all other expenses.

CWF supports Azad Islamic Education Center which has a full boarding

facility in Giridih. Since inception, CWF continually helped this school to

meet its deficit in operational cost. This school has 60 boarding students.

7 Anas related that the Prophet said: “If any Muslim plants something or sows seed from which a man, a bird or an animal eats, it counts as a charity for him”. (Bukhari, Muslim)

“You shall not attain righteousness until you spend out of what you love (in the way of Allah). Allah knows whatever you spend”. - The Holy Quran, 3:92

Qurbani and Sadaqa ($50,374.40)

Housing ($16,141.45)

This year, 147 Cattle and 203 goats were offered for qurbani which provided food for approximately 7,500 families.

Sadaqa of 94 cattle provided meat for more than 3,800 families and sadaqa of 55 goats provided meat for more than 550 families.

Five big lunch/dinner meals were arranged at Deen Bandi village School. This program fed more than 500 students and staff. Two other big meals served in village of Hargawan and Bihar Shareef area which served around 6,000 individuals.

2 Goats were offered for Aqiqa in which a number of families were benefitted by it.

Housing, water and bathroom facilities are a huge challenge for families who are already going through hardship of three times meals. In 2014 CWF attempted for such facilities for a few families.

Five concrete houses were built in the villages of Amarpur, Bijho, Choti Gulni, Mahoni and Phuldeeh of Bihar. All these houses have minimum 2 bed rooms; one bathroom, kitchen area and hand pump for water. Construction of four houses were supported in Deenbandhi village in Bihar, Korideeh and Phuljori villages of Jharkhand. A house repair was carried out in Mahoni village in Bihar.

Water and specially drinking water is a huge challenge in villages. This year four hand pumps were installed in Bihar and Jharkhand. One of them were in Jharkhand for public use and three in Bihar for individual homes.

Six bathroom facilities were built at Aman bagh, Amarpur, Bijho, Choti Gulni, Phuldeeh in Bihar and Phuljori in Jharkhand. CWF always facilitate bathroom facilities for families having more adult girls.

A land was purchased for way to cemetery at Amarpur village in Bihar.

Ramadan Projects ($70,641.20)

The Ramadan package program started in 2008 to support an entire family from the first day of Ramadan till the Eid celebration is continued in 2014. This year it helped 160 families in different part of Bihar and Jharkhand states. This program provides all of the needs of a home. They don't even need to buy salt or matchboxes for that month. It includes all grocery for the month and the clothing for the day of Eid which covers average four to six member of the family.

Sahoor and Iftar packages were distributed among 1316 families. This package contains raw material for iftar and sahoor. These packages were enough for two-person family for the whole month of Ramadan at two meals per day.

CWF distributed Sewai, Milk, Sugar and a Chicken among 806 families a day before Eid. This way they could celebrate the day of Eid.

More than 1,000 families received rice and flour from Fitra program. It was distributed in the first 10 days of Ramadan. CWF provided 1729 women-clothing (saries etc), 2,207 suits to young girls, 607 men-clothing and more than 1429 young children were provided eid clothing.

One full month of iftar program was arranged for more than 26 families. Cooked meals were given to the families who were fasting and having tough time to get proper food to break the fast. Also, 20 iftar big meals were arranged in different villages that provided a good meal to more than 4,500 people.

Animal Sadaqas that includes cattle and goats were done a day before Eid to provide meat to the families which usually don't get meat in their food due to financial reasons.

An Eid festival was arrangement in Kawakol, Phuldeeh, Radhwa villages of Bihar; and Topia village of Jharkhand. It has made an Eid day a big day of celebration for at least 4,000 children. It provides some activity and free food for those children who are unable to celebrate the Eid day. More than 120 families were given some monetary support few days before Eid to cover some miscellaneous needs prior to Eid.

9 (O Prophet!) “Tell those of My servants who believe that they should establish Prayer and spend out of what We have provided them with, both secretly and openly, before there arrives the Day when there will be no bargaining, nor any mutual befriending”.- The Holy Quran, 14:31

Salman ibn Amer reported that the Prophet said: “To give something to a poor man brings one reward, while giving the same to a needy relation brings two: one for charity and the other for respecting the family ties”. (Ahmad, Ibn Majah, Nasai, Tirmidhi)

Stipend & Food ($12,771.95)

This program of CWF supports people with basic needs much needed in the remote villages of India. This ration program facilitates 2 persons family with basic needs of food comprising rice/flour/lintel, etc.

We supported 197 families targeted for widows, elderly and physically challenged by quarterly ration program.

Forty (40) students including 3 orphans are provided basic assistance to thrive in the school. These students are enrolled in Deenbandi School at Supaul district of Bihar. CWF helps them in getting breakfast and fulfill their other basic needs.

In 2014 CWF helped to extend the facility of Mosques in Bihar.

A new Mosque in Kamalpur in Supaul district of Bihar was built. The villagers were waiting from quite a few years for this mosque. Plaster in mosques at Phuldeeh and Phul chonr and toilet construction at Rawe Rampur in Bihar were successfully completed.

CWF is proud of this project of skill building for young girls and women in slums and villages of at least 30 young women every year at each its vocational training centres. There are challenges for adult girls and women to engage them in useful activities which can help them financially in their own life. These skills make them confident and help them earn some good money which in turn help them and their family.

CWF is continually upgrading and managing 12 Sewing and Stitching Vocational Training Centers for the last few years in Ayub Girls School, Loha Ka Pul, Batao Kuan, Khara Kuan in Patna and villages in Jana, Asthawan, Roh, Kawakol and two in Pakri Barawan in Nawada district of Bihar ; Rajabitha and Baghadih in Giridih district of Jharkhand. These centers develop skills of minimum 360 young girls and women per year.

Zari Work center at Ayub School is running descent. Zari work is an excellent marketable skill which generates descent income. This center trains at least 30 young women every year.

CWF provided the needed supplies and assistance to facilitate marriages of 49 women and young girls in different villages of Bihar and Jharkhand states of India.

Philosophy of self-sufficiency for people through Charity Way Foundation continued in 2014. It facilitated families to earn their own living. It provided support to 6 families this year to start small businesses like garments, chicken, grocery, ladies items and spectacles.

CWF dream project of bag factory engages minimum 95 individuals comprising 90 women and 5 men from Kawakol block in the Nawada district of Bihar. Most of these women used to make INR 40 to 50 per day by cutting woods in the jungle. Now they are securely working from their homes and earning a decent INR 100 to 175 per day.

General ($15,932.85)

A big dawat was organized at Kawakol, Nawada to celebrate recovery of a patient. It was attended by 5,000 guests of all age groups.

A total of 940 blankets were distributed in different areas of Bihar and Jharkhand state during extreme cold weather. Also, 2,300 Sweaters were provided to young boys and girls.

A few families were helped with minor cash to get some urgently needed items for their families.

I am a blind man with 5 kids. I sell vegetables to take care of my family. My house was in dilapidated condition which leaked in rains. I was using plastic sheets for cover. Due to poor income I was not able to get my house repaired. Today I have house with bathroom and drinking water facility. I had never dreamt that my kids will be able to live in such a decent house. May Allah be bountiful for all who thought about my misery which my own brother couldn't think.

Zubaida Khatoon-Hargawan, Nalanda-Food Stipend

I am an old woman. I get a monthly stipend on quarterly basis which help me to buy food of my choice. I am very happy to receive it. I have enjoyed sumptuous meals arranged from time to time. I pray to Allah for people who arranges provisions for me.

I didn't have drinking water source at home. My wife used to go to others

house to fetch water. May Allah grant all success to people who arranged

water facility for my family.

I am a widow with 4 little kids. In Ramadan this year, Allah has eased

hardship for me by making provision for food and drink for my family.We

also received good clothes. May Allah provide all the best provisions to

people who arranged everything for my family during Ramadan.

We are poor people but it’s difficult to ask money for any need. My husband

and I wanted to give good education to our children but was unable to pay

long dues of tuition fee for my son. I am grateful to all who arranged his fee

so that he can continue his education.I pray to Allah for their success in both

the worlds.

Vision

Charity way foundation was established in the year 1999. It is 501

(C)(3) US Tax Exempt organization. The mission is to work in the

poverty affected areas of India and Pakistan.

The focus of operations in the past 16 years has been following

areas of concerns:

Medical assistance. It includes medical equipment for

Non- Profit hospitals, establish clinics, immunization,surgeries

and medical camps in remote areas.

Promote education. It includes building schools in remote

areas, helping existing schools to provide better education

facility, help needy and meritorious students for obtaining

professional degrees.

Provide small business for the families.

Provide clean drinking water.

Providing housing to people who don't have proper shelters.

Provide relief to flood or earth quake affected areas.

Food and ration program for old widows or orphans.

Helping families to arrange marriages for their daughters.

Build/renovate and provide facilities to mosques.

Clothing and blankets for needy.

Ramadan program like iftar packages, fidya, clothing, etc.

Eidul Adha /Udhaya program.

Charity Way Foundation envisions healthy communities, mentally,

physically, educationally and monetarily in the states of Bihar and

Jharkhand in India and Karachi in Pakistan.
