The Theory of Evolution
Charles Robert Darwin is famous for his theory of evolution. Darwin had several related ideas.
Ideas of EvolutionThese ideas were
that:
1)Evolution occurred
2)The primary mechanism for the evolution was called natural selection.
Ideas on Evolution3)The
evolutionary change was gradual
4)The species present today originated from a single original life
Natural Selection
Gradual changes in the species will occur as more members obtain this helpful trait.
Natural Selection
These changes may cause the animal to have markings that make them stand out and become easy targets.
Natural SelectionThis gives them a
less chance to survive and reproduce. An example of this change is an animal possessing the albino gene.
Mutations
Genetic mutations are in the organism’s genetic code. These mutations can accumulate making a new organism.
Mutations and AdaptationsWhen the
evolutionary process happens there are some adaptations that will happen.
Mutations and Adaptations
Natural variation may also occur in a species. This is when the normal is changed and an example of this is color or size.
Mutations and Adaptations
For food, the giraffe stretched for leaves, and its neck grows. The result is that the giraffes can reach high leaves.
Mutations and Adaptations
Mutations are rare and occur when a mistake is made copying the cells or genes.
Mutations and Adaptations
Mutations can create two different types of traits. The neutral traits which neither improve or harm an organism's fitness.
Mutations and Adaptations
Then there are some traits that reduce and organism’s ability to survive, perhaps causing it to have the advantage.
Gene PoolAn irreducibly
complex system is a system composed with multiple parts. Each part is necessary for the system’s function.
Gene Pool
If one part is missing then the system will fail to function. These individual parts are integral.
Gene PoolAdults in the species
give discreet hereditary particles, genes, to their young. These discreet single genes are shuffled through the generations.
DNA MethylationDNA Methylation is a
type of chemical modification which involves the addition of a methyl group to the carbon-5 of the cytosine pyridine ring.
DNA Methylation
DNA Methylation is universal in vertebrates. DNA Methylation is an important chemical process of many living organisms.
DNA MethylationDisruption to the DNA
Methylation machinery would result in disability or fatal diseases such as ICF Syndrome (Immunodeficiency centeromere instability and facial anomalies).
About MeMy name is Kenya Pierre. I love to
read manga. The last one I read was Kodocha volume 7. I like to play video games. However, I don’t have the system at my house so I have to play at my friends house. My favorite video game is Kingdom Hearts. I have a dog. She is a border collie and her name is Sandy. My favorite animal is a dog. They are sooo cute!!!
