There will be art on display from all government schools in the hills area so if you have time next week, please pop into Centrepoint and take a look. HEC PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION The Hills Education Community Public Speaking competition was held on Wednesday and it is with great pride that I share just how terrific our two representatives were. Shae Johnson (Yr 4) presented a wonderful talk on her pet boxer puppy Lexi and Elise Wade (Yr 3) wowed the audience with her Roald Dahl poem, once again taking out first prize in the Junior Primary Competition. Well done to both Shae and Elise for the way they both represented the best of Mundaring PS. Hello parents and caregivers. Last week’s assembly involved the massed choir of Jacoby block, including students from Rooms 6, 7, 9 & 10, and as you can see below, this was a huge group of students. The highlight of the assembly was the group’s rendition of ’I am Australian’ which was simply stunning. This classic ode to a multicultural Australia was accompanied by live guitar from Miss Goodfield, Luis Parkinson and yours truly. Congratulations to the students and staff of Jacoby Block for a terrific assembly. EDU-DANCE will be starting again in the first week of next term for all students from Pre-Primary to Year 6. The cost is $25 per student and permission slips have been sent home. Please ensure that these are returned with the payment by Friday 3 July (the last day of Term 2). Parents are reminded that in the case of financial hardship, the school offers alternative payment arrangements with all requests handled in a strictly confidential manner. Please see Mrs Rhodes or Mr Larkin if you wish to discuss this option. OUR SCHOOL’S A STAR Parents are advised that the school’s entry for this great competition is now available for viewing via our website. The Our School’s A Star competition has a people’s choice component and so the more votes we get the better. Parents and friends can vote each day for the next two weeks, so please get behind the school and vote for Mundaring PS! MUNDARING MINIONS MAKEOVER We have also been able to submit a video in the Channel 7 Sunrise Minions Makeover Competition, which could win us $25,000 to re-paint the school. This video is also available to view via our website.
