consequences”• “the ability to act in the face of fear”• More input leads to better ideas and decisions• Shared information means increased learning. • Increased understanding of other people’s perspectives. • Increase opportunity to draw on other people’s strengths. • Ability to compensate for individual weaknesses.

Responsibiles• It is a leader’s responsibility to link

the individual goals of each team member with the common goal to ensure motivation and desire to achieve it.

Individual goals instructed by

the team leader with the

common goal ensures

motivation and desire to obtain

the goal!

Clear allocation of responisbilites reduces the possibilities of intra team conflict.

Team members should be able to respect the role of everyone in the team

Every team member should know that their role in the team is crucial and is valued by their team leaders.

INTERVIEW WITH HEAD COACH

MELISSA ANTHERS

Page 8: Cheer

When groups work together, conflict often erupts.

Tell me about a time that conflict occurred In one of your work groups and what you

did about it.A good way to approach conflict is

to try to understand why

and how it happens.  There are tons of theories in psychology but a framework I like is

based on something called

Transactional Analysis or TA.

One of the toughest jobs cheerleading coaches have is

managing conflict that might erupt on

a cheerleading squad.  It’s bound to happen sooner or later and I’m sure most cheer coaches have

created methods that work well for

them.

Every interaction we have, whether with someone else or with ourselves,

involves these parts.  The neat thing is that you can quickly learn how to figure out

any transaction and determine what

you need to do to fix it.

Tell me what role you are with the team and why.

How would your teammates with describe you?

Respect, Participation, Trust, Ownership for reponisbilities,

What is essential for a team to be successful?

Tell me about problems you had and how you handled them.

Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.

- Ryunosuke Satoro

Tell me about a time you pitched in

to help someone finish a task even though it “wasn’t your job.”  What was the result?
