Whisky

An alcoholic drink distilled from a fermentedmash of grain, as barley, rye, or corn, and usually containing from 43 to 50 percent alcohol.

Types of Whisky

1. Single malt:Single malt whisky represents a whisky that is made from one batch of grain mush and produced in a single distillery. Often it is mixed with other whisky casks to achieve suitable flavor

Ex. Glenlivet, glenfiddich, chivas regal, Grants,Dewars,Ballantines,Teachers,Talisker, singleton etc.

2. Blended whiskies: Blended whiskies are made by mixing several

types of malt, grain and other additives that impact the flavor of the drink. The vast majority of most popular modern whiskies are made in this way, and the names Scotch, Irish, or Canadian Whisky almost always describe blended mixture.

Ex.Ballantines, Dewars, Grants, Famous Grouse, Royal Salute, Passport etc.

3. Scotch:

Scottish whisky is traditionally regarded as best whisky in the world. Majority of them are distilled two times, although some brands go up to twenty. According to the laws, name "Scotch" can be given only to the whisky made in Scotland, and it must age in casks to minimum of three years (although many age it for several decades).

4. Bourbon: Bourbon is the most popular type of whiskey in the U.S. It was

traditionally distilled in and around present-day Bourbon County, Kentucky.

It must be produced in the U.S. from a grain mash made up of at least 51 percent corn. It must be distilled to a maximum strength of 160 proof, bottled at a strength of at least 80 proof, and barreled for aging at no more than 125 proof. It must be aged in new, charred oak barrels.
