CHEESECAKE SAMPLER AND BATTLE OFTHE HORS D'OEUVRES TONIGHT
Tonight, Friday - October 24th at the Martin and MasonBuilding Grand Ballroom, the 22nd Annual Cheesecake
Sampler and Battle of the Hors D'Oeuvres will take placewith some amazing entries. Just a few of the entries include:Montana huckleberry cheesecake, Butterfinger cheesecake,
German chocolate, banana toffee, salmon dip cheesecake . . .and more! A few of the hors d'oeuvre entries include shrimpand prosciutto kabobs, smoked salmon, rumaki . . . and more!
The photo below shows Philip Prorok of the GemSteakhouse/Mineral Palace adding the finishing touches to
his hors d'oeuvres entry - ahi tuna wafer of cucumberw/scallions and caviar at last year's Sampler! And, he will be
back again this year with some amazing entries! Mmm!

PIANO AND GUITAR LESSONS BEINGOFFERED AT LEAD DEADWOOD ARTS
CENTER
The Lead Deadwood Arts Center is once again offeringpiano lessons with instructor Roxie Chowen; and, guitarlessons with local musician Tony Hill! Classes are $15 perhalf-hour session and for students of all ages! If you areinterested, give the Arts Center a call at 584-1461!
FUNK AND WAGNALLS DICTIONARY OFMYTHOLOGY, FOLKLORE AND LEGEND
EXHIBIT ON DISPLAYBe sure to stop by and check out the latest exhibit on displayat the Lead Deadwood Arts Center titled "Funk and WagnallsDictionary of Mythology, Folklore and Legend." It's awonderful show featuring the artwork of Jean (Dobias)Welborn and Timm Hoff both of Nebraska with 40 originalpaintings, sculptures and pressed prints of the artist'sinterpretation of the mythology. It's a very unique, one-of-a-
interpretation of the mythology. It's a very unique, one-of-a-kind display! The art will remain until the end of October.
Photos below show the opening night. In the bottom picture,Chadron State College was well represented with sevengraduates attending along with Chadron State CollegeFoundation President, Jim Wefso, of Lead.
LDAC TO DISPLAY VETERANS DAYEXHIBIT
The next exhibit at the Lead Deadwood Arts Center (LDAC)will be a tribute to Veterans. To celebrate Veterans Day 2014,the LDAC is asking local residents to bring in their photos,memorabilia, etc. to salute the men and women who haveserved this country from all branches of the military and alleras of service. From photos of servicemen, to photos ofbattleships, to personal memorabilia, etc. the LDAC wouldlike to showcase it. An open house will be held from 5 to 7p.m. on Tuesday, November 11 at the Arts Center to unveilthe exhibit.
