Cheetah Family News (615) 472-4300 March 12 th , 2019 1000 Secluded Lane Dear Parents, The safety of our students is our top priority at Chapman’s Retreat. This can become challenging when 750 students and 100 staff are arriving each morning and departing each afternoon. We have met with the WCS Transportation department to review our procedures and ensure that we are doing everything we can to keep students, staff, and visitors as safe as possible. Please review this information regarding the movement of vehicles while WCS buses are present in our parking lot. Buses will drop off and pick up students in the front parking area. When buses are waiting in the front of the school, they will have their lights flashing and stop sign out. NO vehicles will be allowed to pass by the bus to exit the parking lot when their lights are flashing, and the stop sign is out. Cones will be placed in the passing lane by a CRES staff member to ensure that no vehicles use this lane while the buses are loading and unloading students. Visitors may use the center and back driveways to enter and exit the school while buses are present. Anyone parked in the bus lane during arrival or dismissal must wait until all buses are gone before moving their vehicle. Visitors walking in or out of the building while school buses are present, should not cross into the bus lane. Please cross near the playground area onto the sidewalk and walk into the building.
