perceptionscover / layout / typography /editing / CD & DVD label

2009 edition of Perceptions creative magazine. Worked with a fifteen person publishing / editing staff on a two-person design team to create the largest edition of Perceptions to date. Three hundred pages featuring fiction, non-fiction, poetry, photograpy and fine art, with a CD of original music and DVD of original short films. Laser cut cover with a hand-made graffiti feel throughout.

togo cocoalogo / product / label / packaging / advertisments / process booklet

Branding and packaging for cocoa butter based soap imported from Togo, Africa. The look and feel directly corrolates with the counrty’s culture, clothing, regional flag and trade markets.

Fibers & FabricThree fabric choices were

selected to compliment the color

combination in each label. The

fabric patterns are different

enough to make it feel as if the

soaps were wrapped in left-

over scraps from a cloth trade

market. Labels for togo cocoa

were printed on hand-made

paper to continue the organic

un-manufactured feel.

Sketch to vector graphicIdeations became stronger and fully

realized when translated from sketch

book to computer. This cluster of cocoa

pods coalesced nicely with a lowercase

font with curvaceous rounded serifs.

24 page 8x8 booklet leads viewer through beginning stages of research of Togo, Africa. Ideations for a logo. Creating a vector graphic from a sketch and pairing it with a font. Exploration of label design and packaging, and the final product photo shoot. Published through blurb.com

Wrap-around label with scalloped edges in three color variations to compliment soap scent. Fabric packaging selected for each color combination, seemingly random patterns reference Togo’s emense cloth trade market.

An entry-level position with a creative agency developing graphics and illustrations for web and print in a collaborative, innovative oasis.

experience

identity: Developed company identity with logo design, stationary, ad-vertisements, and greeting card promo pieces. Coordinated multimedia presentations. Prepared copy writing for marketing materials. Extended understanding of careful typography, color correction and layout. Experi-enced in organizing and preparing files for print. Versed in digital pho-tography, color correction and editing. Efficiently collaborate with other designers, printers and project managers.

apparel: Created the 2009 t-shirt graphic for the Oregon Special Olympics Torch Run fundraiser.

publishing: Designed the 2009 edition of Perceptions, a 300 page magazine comprised of creative works from all forms of media. Col-laborated with one other designer and fifteen person publishing team to promote and compose the edition in a new innovative way. Designed z-fold brochure/donation form for local non-profit organization GLOBIO, to be used at fundraisers, seminars, and on displays. Utilize on demand publishing systems such as blurb and lulu efficiently and successfully.

integrated media: Developed informational tutorials on how to use computer hardware with a four person integrated media team. Par-ticipated in creating story boards, copy writing, graphics, web design and audio recording. Versed in using social networking sites such as voicethread, vox and wordpress as a means to collaborate on projects and hold discussions.

branding & packaging: Developed logo, packaging, advertisments and process book for an invented product with narrow audience and cultural focus.

web: Developed portfolio website for graphic designer.
