Chemical Resistance - Composite Hose The following chart indicates he chemical resistance only of hose and fittings with various conveyants. Because a hose is chemically resistant does not mean it is suitable, e.g. All hoses listed are resistant to various degrees to aviation fuel but Group 2 hoses should not be used because the polypropylene coated wire will not dissipate static electricity. Group 2 hoses must not be used where static electricity can cause a hazard, the same applies to polypropylene camlocks. Group 2 and 3 hoses are chemically resistant to milk but should not be used if the food quality is to be maintained because of a problem with cleaning the inside of the hose. The information given is to be used as a guide onyl. Where more than one hose is suitable for an aggressive conveyant and the hose is used close to maximum working pressure or maximum temperature, even though the is an adequate safety margin, it would be prudent to go to a higher rating hose.
