Personal Tutor System

• You are each assigned a personal tutor who will see you twice in the first semester, once in the second, and again in later years (and will writ you a reference, so keep in contact).

• These meetings are to help you adjust to living and studying at university.

• You are an adult, you make your decisions, you take responsibility for them.

• We provide a guidance along the way, should you want it.

• These are not academic tutorials.

• If you are having doubts within the first two weeks of term about whether this is the course for you, arrange to see me immediately.

Academic

• Attend, on time, lectures, tutorials and practicals

• Review them that evening and at the weekend

• Look at text books to widen your understanding

• Discuss with friends

• UNDERSTAND, not memorize

• APPLY your understanding to SOLVE problems
