La Petite Madame VintageLa Petite Madame was started by London-based Emilie Boitard when she found out that she was expecting a baby girl more than 3 years ago when sourcing on behalf of a retailer.
Emilie fell in love when she found some beautiful vintage Japanese silk kimonos for little girls right in central Tokyo. “I bought the entire stock from a rather bemused but happy grandma.”
The kimonos fit girls aged 3 to 6 years, are all authentic, hand-stitched and will therefore have minor imperfections. All have been professionally dry-cleaned and stored and make the perfect heirloom gift, luxurious play costume or collector’s item.
RRP £90-£120
Madeleine James’ East London boutique Lapin & Me was filled with hard-to-find modern, arty and authentic vintage children’s items from around the world.
Lapin & Me distribution is making items from that world available to UK retailers: the Baby Lapin nightlamp is a hand-moulded and hand-finished resin lamp, expertly made in Germany. The Lapin & Me Japanese dolls are an authentic mid-century design, still made in Japan by the same craftsman and distributed exclusively in the UK by Lapin & Me.
These products are the first in Lapin & Me’s wholesale range, which will include Madeleine’s own design stationery and soft furnishings.
Baby Lapin nightlamp RRP £65, Japanese doll RRP £13
