CHICKENPOX
WHAT IS THE CHICKENPOX ?
-Infectious and contagious disease, caused by a virus, characterized by the appearance of an eruption of vesicles that imbues the skin of the whole body.-Chickenpox mainly attacks children.
YOU CAN HAVE CHICKENPOX AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF LIFE
- ADULTHOOD: it is most serious because it can affect also to your organs
- PREGNANCY: it is an important problem because it is dangerous for the mother and also for the baby
- CHILDHOOD: The most frequent is to suffer it when you are a child
SYMPTOMS• Nausea• Loss of appetite• Aching muscles• Headache
THE MOST CHARACTERISTIC SIGN:BLISTERS:• The rash begins, often in bunches of
spots on the chest and face. From there it can spread out quickly over the entire body — sometimes the rash is even in a person's ears and mouth.
• The number of pox is different for everyone
TREATMENT:• As a protective measure, people are usually required to stay at home while they are
infectious to avoid spreading the disease to others
• Cutting the nails short or wearing gloves may prevent scratching
VACCINEDuring childhood, chickenpox is not dangerous so child don´t need the vaccine
It is necessary to vaccinate adult population (if they didn´t have the chickenpox)
