By the end of SESSION 1 participants will:
» Have an understanding of the relevance of child protection to your work;
» Be aware of the broader context for this work;
» Have explored a range of attitudes in relation to this issue;
» Be aware of the definitions of child abuse;
» Be aware of how workers might become aware of/have concerns about abuse.

Confidentiality is about managing sensitive information that arises in a trusting relationship and doing so in a manner that is respectful, professional and purposeful.
Youth Work is based upon trusting relationships and it is not uncommon for members to want to share personal information with volunteers or employees.
