The Treasure
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field,
which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells
all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven
is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had
found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and
bought it.” (Matthew 13:44-46)
I know you are rejoicing that I have come into your life. But let
Me ask you, have you numbered your assets? Have you totaled
up your riches? I want you to see Me as a treasure hidden in a
field. I once told My disciples about a man who was working in
someone else’s field. It might have come about as he was
plowing the field, that his plowshare suddenly struck a buried
box. There the dark and rotted exterior was unearthed in open
sunlight. The farmer, stopped by the unusual occurrence, pried
the cask open. Its contents glittered gold in the Palestine sun.
The man’s good fortune paralyzed him with doubt, but he did a
wise thing. He closed the cask and quickly buried the box again.
He marked the place where this rich treasure lay. He hurried into
town, totaled up all he owned, and sold every asset. Then, still
celebrating his good fortune, he took his total life savings—all his
worth—and bought the field. Then he returned to the field and
claimed the treasure that was his.
His good fortune reminds us of the jeweler who, in the process of
buying and selling gems, came across a pearl of rare size and
beauty. He too sold every other jewel he owned and with the
proceeds he brought this splendid pearl of great worth.
Such fortune—indeed the same great fortune—has also come to
you. I want you to look around at the people who hoard their
worthless possessions. Their earthly things may make them look
rich. But in your heart you know that they are desperately in
need. For in any moment they might die and then they would
have to enter eternity owning nothing of real eternal value. Think
about your joy. Share your story. Help them turn to Me in
repentance and faith that they might know Me, the only true
treasure.

Operation Christmas Child Operation Christmas Child 2020 is “full steam ahead!” The
COVID-19 global pandemic has disrupted everyday life in some
way for nearly everyone on the planet. Yet, Samaritan’s Purse
continues to share the eternal hope of the Gospel and to serve in
Jesus’ Name. If you haven’t already started packing shoeboxes,
now is the time! There are Operation Christmas Child
shoeboxes and brochures in the church office for our church
members.
We want boys and girls around the world to know that God
loves them and has not forgotten them during this time of fear
and uncertainty. We are trusting God as we make plans to
traditionally collect Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes during National Collection Week Nov. 16–23, 2020. Happy
shoebox packing!
Phase 3 Reopening Update We have now entered into Phase 3, which means we may
increase our capacity to 75%. In order to do this safely, we
ask that you diligently continue to skip every other pew as
marked. We also ask you to social distance at least 6 feet
from other family units when possible. Please utilize all of the
available space on the row you choose (sides and center), and
move inward to accommodate others if necessary. Finally, we
ask that you wear facemasks upon entering and exiting the
building (to and from your seat) at a minimum. –Dr. Dupree
