CHILTON COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

FROM THE DIRECTOR

As we begin a new year, maybe we should make a few resolutions.

The word itself, resolution, means that we have determined or decided on a course of action. The question is, What course of action would be good for us or for those around us

like our family or co-workers?

Should we determine to lose weight? To be kinder: To give more of ourselves? To attend church more often? To spend more time with those we love? To exercise? While all of these would probably be beneficial, would they be sustainable?

Would we follow through, or

would we quit after just a few weeks? Our track record on New Year’s resolutions should provide the answers.

Perhaps we should simply say with Jonathan Edwards: “Resolution 1: I will live for God. Resolution 2: If no one else does, I still will.” These two resolutions would be good for everybody. Happy New Year!
