February 2 - 18 Chinatown Urban Acupuncture Project February 23 - March 10 e Sustainable Humanitarian Architecture & Design for the Earth Institute presents a vision for the future of Honolulu’s Chinatown. Twelve interns from three universities in Hawai‘i and the US Mainland, and ten professional mentors from the fields of urban planning, architecture and landscape architecture participated in this project. e exhibit features a proposed Chinatown Vision Map, a large scale architectural model of the entire Chinatown District, and five illustrated project recommendations to address current problems and areas of opportunity in this vital urban core area.

    REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONSfor the Art in City Buildings Program for the

    JOINT TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT CENTER

    The Mayor’s Office of Culture and the Arts (MOCA) requests proposals for a work of art for the Joint Traffic Management Center. Artists are encouraged to submit their qualifications by the March 6, 2016 deadline. The artwork will be located at the southwestern corner of the building site, at the corner of King and Alapa‘i streets, and must be of an outdoor durable material, suitable for permanent installation within the established area.
