Why do we celebrate Chingay?
It is to celebrate the birthdays of the Chinese deities or the procession
God Mercy ( Guan Yin ) .
It was held to worship and enjoy with the deity.
Chingay also means the art of costume and masquerade.

• Beautiful diverse colours of fabric were held by the Chinese dancers
• Dancers were also wearing colourful costumes
• Different groups of dancers danced different unique dances which all synchronized in
beautiful dance parade.

performers in Malay costume hitting the
drums.

floats of the organizations.
• The huge pieces of fabric which they
used a crane to spread out haddifferent colours of fabric stitched
together to form one huge beautiful
and colorful piece of cloth.

• Sound quality was bad
• Very long time for the students from
different schools to be dispersed.
• Space was quite limited, thus had tobe hit by classmate’s Pom Pom several
times.
