The count down begins as we arrive at November, the 11th month of the year. On the 3rd is when Daylight Savings time ends and they set our clocks back one hour. We need to remember all of the time pieces we have so we can include them all. One year I had several watches. I went one night to choir practice. When I arrived the choir Director said” Hello Karen, are you here early, because we have some solos or extra pieces to rehearse?” It was then I re-alized that my watch had not been adjusted to the correct time. Boy, was I embarrassed. On the 5th of November it is election day when we will begin to whittle down the presidential candidates for 2020. On the 10th of this month the United States Marine Corps. Was established in 1775. How fascinating that those men that long ago knew we needed such an organization, which has operated usefully and effectively until the present day. On the 11th we celebrate Veterans day. That is the day we celebrate the service of all Veterans who participated in every War from the war of Independence until the present day. In 1918 this same date marks the signing in WWI of the Treaty of
Versailles, the armistice that Germany was forced to sign after
their defeat. This defeat caused terrible animosity between the
Germans and the French, all ultimately began to result in Hitler’s
rise to power.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Nelson Noble. Nelson served as a volunteer & treasurer for 25 years at Citizens Care & Rehabilitation Center. Contributions in memory of Nelson can be made to the CCRC Memorial Fund. Nelson was one of the kindest, most caring and generous gentlemen I have ever met. He was very meticulous while serving as the Guild Treasurer here. Nelson had a smile for everyone he met. For 20 years Nelson would send me a birth-day card and a Valentine’s Day Card. He never missed sending them until this past year when I found out he was struggling with his health. We stayed in touch by phone and mail after he moved to Augsburg. He always signed them “Your Knight in Shining Armor” and that he was. Nelson was a great friend and I will miss him. Rest in peace my friend.

The Activity Department is in need for a few items to make this Christmas special. We would appreciate any and all donations of the following items you may have or can help us with. 1. Christmas material for the residents to make pillows for gifts for their families and friends. 2. Nice body wash such as Olay or Dove. Something generic that is moisturizing would be fine too. 3. Shampoos, Conditioners, Deodorants (men's and women's), Tooth Brushes, Tooth Paste and also Pocket Tissues. 4. CD players and discs are in great demand to give to the room bound residents for entertainment in their rooms. Used CD players are fine as well as older CD’s.
N o t i c e We wish to reaffirm our policy that all
persons, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, genetics,
martial status or sexual orientation are considered for employment or admission to
