Development of a mixed use complex that consists of the renovation and expansion of an existing dwelling, raised to accommodate two additional Arts & Craft Studio / Live-Work Units at ground level and extended to the rear of the property. Organized around a podium that serves as open deck spaces and separation between the new uses, the new building ref lects a dialogue between the salvaged building and the new additions. The use of materials include vertical and horizontal wood siding, wood screens and cement plaster and together, juxtaposing the old and the new, they weave the new construction with the renovated ones, ref lecting the character of the area as the borderline between residential and light manufacturing / commercial zones.
