From the Pastor’s Desk
There is much to say this weekend! First, congratulations to the young people of our parish who received First Communion this weekend. And congratulation in advance to those who will be receiving Confirmation this Wednesday. May God continue to fill you with his grace as you deepen your relationship with him in the years ahead. Congratulations also to Aldriel Barnum. We know Aldriel as the organist for our English Masses. He is graduating from the Ohio State University this weekend – a noteworthy achievement, to be sure! A bit of sad news: our parish bookkeeper, Mary Kathryn Korn, will be with us for only a few more days. Mary Kathryn has decided to pursue a terrific job opportunity elsewhere. We will miss her sorely. A bit of good news: Belen Lazcano and Bianca Valdez are two lay missionaries who have been assigned to Christ the King by the Missionary Servants of the Word. These two young women have generously given several months of their lives to collaborate with our religious sisters in their work of evangelization. We welcome Belen and Bianca as they assist Mother Neri, Sister Laura, and Sister Rocio over the course of this summer. Lastly, I want to encourage everyone to participate in the special Mass and rosary procession that will take place in the morning on Saturday, May 13, which is the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. This is the 100th anniversary of Mary’s apparition to Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco in Portugal. Please tell your family and friends to join us as we honor Our Lady on Mother’s Day Weekend. May the Lord bless you throughout the week.

The Sisters’ Corner
Everyone is invited to celebrate Mother’s Day with us on Saturday, May 13, and Sunday, May 14. There will be refreshments in the vestibule after all Masses that weekend. (This event is bilingual.) On Sunday, May 14, after the 12:30 p.m. Mass, the Sisters will be having a Mother’s Day gathering in the basement. There will be song, dance, and prayer in celebration of Mother’s Day. Please see the sisters if you would like to participate. (This event is in Spanish.) We’re having a Men’s Retreat at St. James the Less Church the weekend of May 20-21. The retreat will begin at 9:00 a.m. on
Saturday and conclude at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. The theme of the retreat is “To fight and to love: How men discover themselves.” Look for the sisters if you are interested. (This event is in Spanish.)

Hay mucho para decir este fin de semana! Primero, felicitaciones a los niños de nuestra parroquia que recibieron Primara Comunión este fin de semana. Y felicidades de antemano a los que recibirán Confirmación este miércoles. Que Dios siga llenándolos con su gracia mientras profundizan su relación con El en los años que vienen. Felicitaciones también a Aldriel Barnum. Conocemos a Aldriel como el organista de nuestras misas de inglés. Él se está graduando de Ohio State University este fin de semana – ¡un logro invaluable, sin duda alguna! Noticias un poquito tristes: nuestra contadora, Mary Kathryn Korn, estará con nosotros solo por algunos días más. Mary Kathryn ha decidido seguir una excelente oportunidad de trabajo en otro lugar. La extrañaremos mucho. Un poquito de buenas noticias: Belén Lazcano y Bianca Valdez son dos misioneras laicas que han sido asignadas a Christ the King por las Misioneras Servidoras de la Palabra. All Saints Academy Catholic School
All Saints Academy wants to congratulate our students who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday. We hope you continue to come to the table of the Lord throughout your lives. Confirmation is this Wednesday, May 10, at 7:00 p.m. in the church. We are celebrating Teacher and Staff Appreciation Day on Wednesday, May 10. If you would like to offer a note to a teacher, you can send it to the office and we will be sure to deliver it. We thank all teachers, but especially those working in Catholic Education. The “Buy One, Get One Free” Book Fair is going on this week in our library. The book fair hours are from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Outside the Parish The 40th annual diocesan Senior Citizens Celebration is Tuesday, June 6, at St. Joan of Arc Church, 10700 Liberty Road, Powell, Ohio. Bishop Campbell will celebrate Mass at 10:30 a.m. Mass will be
followed by a luncheon. Registration is $10. This annual event is a great opportunity for fellowship with senior citizens from the 23-county diocese.
